Types of Races and their abilities

A Race is randomly assigned to the player when they first join. Afterwards, players can change to other Races as they wish. Every race in the game starts at version1 that is the base version without any special abilities or buffs. Each race has a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th version, namely V2(2nd), V3(3rd) and V4(4th). V2 and V3 are obtainable in the second sea, while V4 is obtainable in the Third Sea with several in-game requirements. Each version has its Race-specific abilities, and all the Races awaken at V4, which means gains a massive buff. The starter races that are assigned after players spawn are:

  • Human (chance 62.5%)
  • Rabbit (chance 12.5%)
  • Shark (chance 12.5%)
  • Angel (chance 12.5%)

Apart from these, a few special races are obtainable by completing certain quests. They are:

  • Cyborg: Obtainable by completing the Cyborg puzzle.
  • Ghoul: Bought for 100 Ectoplasm and a Hellfire Torch through the Experimic.
  • Draco: Obtainable through completing the Dragon Wizard quest.

These are the core Races that are present in the game. Each race has its unique buffs and abilities.

Human

Human is the most common race out of the starting 4 that the players are spawned with. It has a 62.5% chance to be granted, and hence most players are seen in the human race once after joining the game. This race excels in damage and mobility but doesn’t provide any defence. It allows for aggressive playstyle and excels at one-shot combos, but mastering this race is quite difficult as it does not provide any defence.

In V2 and V3, Human deals more damage and has increased movement speed, while in V4, it unlocks ancient powers, psycho and limit break that make the user invisible for a period and instil rage that increases damage massively.

Rabbit

As a starter Race, Rabbit (formerly Mink) is regarded as a mediocre one in the current game environment, as it is outclassed by other Races. Its main characteristics are speed boost and mobility. It lacks damage, defence, healing, and much more.

In V2 and V3, there are not many buffs, just an increase in movement speed up to 4x, as well as an increase in the player’s Dash length. In V4, it unlocks whirlwind and Lightning Cloak, which traps enemies in a tornado, and the dashes are much longer due to electricity.

Rabbit

Shark

Shark is also a starter race that provides significant damage reduction and allows the user to swim in the water without taking damage. It is recommended for players participating in sea events for the first time, as it provides high defensive shielding. Shark is strong against one-shot combos, but its mobility and damage are low, making it less suitable for advanced play.

In versions 2 and 3, while the user is in water, it stops taking damage and movement speed increases. While outside water, the incoming damage is reduced upto 70% and lasts for 4.5s with a cooldown of 30s. In V4, it unlocks Leviathan’s Armour and Whirlpool that gains a water shield and slows down enemies, reducing their defence.

Shark

Angel

Angel is known for its potential to delay time in battles. It has common abilities such as healing and improved jumping, which are easy to counter; however, when V4 is activated, it can counter all Races with its ability to ‘break combos’. Hence, if you are using Angel as a Race, transform to V4 before engaging in PvP fights, and it is always recommended to flee or avoid fights when V4 is not active, or you are at low health.

In V2 and V3, it has improved jumping and healing, but in V4, it unlocks Prince of the Skies and King’s Rule, which allows the user to glide in the air and unlocks an Aura around the user with multiple effects, such as Slowness, Damage, Energy drain, Screen distortion, as well as Stunning if the enemy gets too close.

Angel

Ghoul

To obtain Ghoul, the player needs 100 Ectoplasm and 1 Hellfire torch. Ghoul provides various Stat Boosts, like speed increase at nighttime, cooldown reduction, and enhanced mobility. It can leech health from players, making it great at combat effectiveness and PvP battles. This Race is strong in every aspect except for relatively weak armour.

In V2 and V3, it has abilities like Life Leech and Heightened Senses that heal the user upto 25% of the damage dealt and increase the overall damage speed and defence. In V4, it unlocks Blood Siphon and Domain Expansion that attaches Life Leech ability to all attacks and adds a Dark field outside the user that slows enemies and reduces their health while applying partial blindness on enemies.

Ghoul

Cyborg

Cyborg is obtained by completing the Cyborg puzzle. Its special abilities allow the user to fight and combo more effectively in close ranges, upon disabling Instinct or by dealing extra damage and increasing self-defence. This race is mainly used against a group of players due to its ability to deal huge area damage. It is great for grinding and PvP fights.

In V2, it converts incoming damage to energy and in V3, it unlocks the Energy Core that increases players’ defence and creates an AoE lightning effect that inflicts damage upon enemies. In V4, it unlocks Energy Control and Aftershock that chains the damage dealt to nearby enemies and unlocks super jump, with attacks applying an electrifying effect that disables opponents’ Instinct temporarily.

Cyborg

Draco

This is an exclusive race that is only obtainable in the Third Sea, and is unlocked by exchanging 1 Dragon Egg with the Dragon Wizard after collecting the Dojo Belt. Draco is a strong Race with several boosts in speed, damage and skills. Its Awakened ability provides great damage buffs, making it one of the best choices for PvP, PvE, and other events. Although it lacks speed, it is well compensated by its enemy debuffs at V3 and V4.

In V2, it unlocks Flash Steps that create an explosion and deal burning damage. In V3, it unlocks Primordial Reign, which gives damage and movement buffs to allies and debuffs the enemy’s speed and stuns them, cancelling any abilities if used. In V4, it has a Cometic Field that damages enemies present within the field with explosive orbs and breaks Instinct. Also, it has Thorn Mail that allows the players to reflect a portion of the incoming damage back to enemies

Draco

Conclusion

Every Race in the game has its own uniqueness and task-specific abilities. Some are better for solo grinding, while other provides Team buffs. Some provide great defensive abilities, like the Shark, while others have explosive damage like the Draco. Every Race has a unique awakened ability that provides several key buffs. It is upto you to choose which race best suits your playstyle and your long-term in-game goals. There is no universal best race; the race that matches how you fight, grind and think is suitable for you.
