Welcome back to a brand-new COD: Black Ops 7 article. Today we are going to cover the season 2's update that is promising to be absolutely massive. We're going to talk about pretty much everything that we know so far about this update. Follow us as we're going to try to speedrun through this.
Season 2 Release Date, Marketing, & Download
The game update goes live on 5 February at 9:00 a.m. PST. That's a couple of weeks from now. Around a week before that, on 29 January, we're going to see the Road Map, the marketing trailers will start dropping, and the blog posts will be revealed. Then, after that, the downloads will start.
For example, Battle.net will usually allow you to download at the very end or the start of the week that the update goes live. Then you also have the Battle Pass and all of that good stuff. The marketing is usually the same when it starts off with seasonal updates.
ALL NEW Season 2 Multiplayer Content
Now, let's talk about the content that we know so far. With the maps, we have a long list of maps. All these come in either from reliable leakers such as Reality UK, the Ghost of Hope, or have been verified by the devs themselves.
For example, Yemen has been verified by devs. Plaza has been leaked and found in the files by Reality UK because he found a like BO2 mock-up playlist and within it, it actually had Plaza with some of the other maps that are now in Black Ops 7. Then you got Slums that come in from the Ghost of Hope.
Gridlock. This is actually found from an image when they were showcasing the Rhino score streak in a Call of Duty blog. You'll notice that the background actually matches Gridlock from Black Ops 4. That's one of the maps that seems to be coming in. And we're yet to see anything about that or any map that even resembles it. It's more than likely going to be this map.
We also have Vertigo, which was verified by the devs themselves. They said there would be a remake from BO2 that was going to be on top of a skyscraper, and that is Vertigo. On top of this, three maps were also recently leaked and these come in from Black Ops 6. So, we have Babylon, Stakeout, as well as Skyline. It will be down to one of these maps; we don't think all three of them.
Then, we have Overdrive mode, which was confirmed by Matt Scrunch, a developer at Treyarch. He was doing some Q&As, and someone asked him about Overdrive and he replied to them that they're going to do some tweaks and makeovers to the mode, and then they're going to bring it back.
Season 2 Endgame Update
Now, the unfortunate thing is for Endgame, we really don't know anything about it. We know for a fact that they're going to continue updates.
There's probably going to be a couple more world events. There may be some new rewards like exotic skills, different abilities that you're going to be able to unlock within the updates, because usually Endgame does get a couple of things, but there's no real leaks or any information like that that usually releases and we don't really know until it actually happens.
Warzone Season 2 Content
We got a couple of things that are going to be coming in with this. The first thing is, we have the Rebirth Island refresh. We also have Plunder. There's going to be Blackout. These are the modes coming in. And then there's also going to be ranked play. And with ranked play, there are a couple of things to note. First off, they said there's going to be more rewards than ever for Warzone.
There's going to be more camos than ever that you can unlock in ranked play. There are even contrails that were leaked by Reality UK. He says that there's a new Warzone reward coming in season 2 and it's known as “Hacker Contrail”.
That's going to be a type of reward, we are assuming, for ranked, but could be another way. And then there's also a massive Ricochet anti-cheat update.
They said they're going to be adding a new layer to the system, and they're going to be updating that to prepare for rank play as well. So, there's a lot involved with Warzone.
NEW Season 2 DLC Weapons, Operators, & Events
Surprisingly enough, there are really not many DLC weapons that we know about because the only way that they were leaked was in the form of code names. And the code names really don't give us much information. We've seen people commenting saying that they hope some of these are going to be some older classic weapons.
For example, like the ICR, the Scorpion, the Vector and the Locust Sniper. We're thinking there's definitely going to be a classic there at some point, maybe from like BO2, BO3, or BO4, but we just don't know exactly what it is, and this is the only information based on DLC weapons that we have so far. Now, it's also the same sort of thing with the operators.
Usually, we have a theme that lets us know who the main operator is. Like for example, last season we knew it was going to be Alden Dorne. He was going to be coming in. We also knew Fallout was going to be the next crossover.
We're definitely going to be surprised when we see that battle pass and when we see these bundles that they add. But what we do know about bundles is that there's going to be a total of 22 of them, according to Reality UK.
To top it all off, he also mentions that there are new operator skins coming in for characters like Harper, Karma, and Reaper. These are the characters that are only available through the vault edition.
The next thing is that quite a few events have already been leaked. We've talked about this before, where there are leaderboard events, unfortunately, and it seems like they're going to be doing them in each mode specifically.
Multiplayer is going to have its own exclusive one. For the first time, Dead Ops Arcade is going to have one. Zombies will have one. And then also for the first time, Endgame will have its own sort of exclusive event coming in. And then there was also an event pass that will be added and that was confirmed by Reality UK.
There are a variety of different camouflage patterns that you can unlock, as well as other rewards. However, we don't get to see any images of them.
Zombies Season 2 Content
First off, the round base zombies map is not going to come in until Season 2 reloaded. That's going to be somewhere until sometime at the start to mid-March because it's going to be added and confirmed in the Reloaded update, which is usually four to 5 weeks after the season 2 update goes live.
But in the meantime, here's what else they've confirmed. We have Mars survival that was mentioned in the blog. Ashwood's survival has been leaked and found in the files, but they didn't confirm that. We don't know if it's season 2 or not. And then there's also going to be the modes that are going to be coming in. Curse is going to be available in all the survival maps now.
There's also a list of augments alongside that, meaning that the perk is pretty much all but done and now they just have to add it in and it's probably going to be available with that round-based map.
Now, this is pretty much everything that we know so far about the update. We tried to summarize as quickly as possible, but we’re going to have more dedicated articles speaking of each aspect in particular, so be on the lookout for that.

- How to obtain the new operators’ skins for Harper, Karma, Reaper, etc.?
You will need to spend that $100 if you want any of these skins from the Vault Edition. It looks like they are now going to start offering them either in the store bundles or in some form of way that you're going to be able to get them without having to purchase the vault.
- There will be new equipment added to Call of Duty: BO7 Season 2?
There will be two different pieces of equipment that are going to be added according to Reality UK, but they're just code names for the moment. We don't know exactly what they are. We don't have any idea. If you have a theory, comment it down below.
