Hey Raiders, today we're going to check out the brand-new patch. We're going to go over the brand-new cosmetics as well. We're going to discuss exploits and what the developers need to do about it. And there's just so much more to discuss.
What’s New in Patch 1.12.0?
Let's go ahead and start off with the brand-new patch 1.12.0. And basically, what we've got here is several exploit fixes, specifically duplication and out-of-bounds stuff. So right here, this is what the developers wrote:
∙ Fixed an item duplication exploit.
∙ Fixed an ammo duplication exploit.
∙ Fixed some cases where players were able to damage others from behind geometry.
∙ Fixed various out-of-bounds map locations on Stella Montis.
This patch is really good because the developers resolved a ton of issues. However, at the same time, there's still going to be ways for players to get out of bounds, specifically using the “stuck mechanic”.
If you don't know, this is what's being used to basically get “out of bounds”. Players are able to just get stuck in certain areas, and this will pop them above the map, and that's the problem here. So, even if they do resolve some, you know, locations in Stella Montis, there's always going to be another player out there that's just trying to get out of bounds using the stuck mechanic.
Once they're able to resolve these stuck issues, then they'll officially be able to resolve all the out-of-bounds issues. But right now, that's a crippling issue that is hurting competitive play.
Players can still get out of bounds using the stuck mechanic. But we'll see what happens here. I'd like to know, what are your thoughts about this patch so far? Let me know in the comments below.
New Cosmetic: Fiuro Set
Continuing, we have a brand-new cosmetic in the store called the Fiuro Set. And this one is actually really good in our opinion. We are big fans of this one. This one actually beats a lot of the skins available in the store, besides certain premium specific skins.
As you can see in the attached images or for yourself in-game, it looks pretty basic without certain attachable parts, of course, which isn't a bad deal. We still think this is by far one of thebest skins in the shop, besides a few others. But regardless, we can see that's what it looks like.
There's also a second item in this bundle, which is Smokey Eye Red, and this is very similar to another cosmetic we've unlocked recently. We are talking about the one that was available during the Cold Snap event. And the third item is a salute emote.
And we think this is great. We think the bundle is awesome, besides the Smokey Eye Red set, just because it's similar to another cosmetic. Nevertheless, we'd like to know: what are your thoughts regarding this skin?
Dev Talks about Current Issues
Going on, we have some great news. The developers are investigating the glitch in the inventory. If you don't know what it is, it's basically where it appears like you've got a bunch of legendary items. For example, this image here that this player provided, before a community manager jumped in, asking for more details.
They explained what was going on, and then the community manager responded with, "Thanks for the info. We'll look into this." This bug, in particular, we know it's been around for such a long time. But, as the majority of the players, we have no idea why it pops up.
If any of you have any idea as to what's going on here and why it pops up, let us know in the comments, because that way we can share this information with the developers, and hopefully we can get this patched sooner rather than later.
Next at number two, we've got a second bug the developers are fully aware of and are looking into it. The bug that we're going to discuss right now is a Bastion bug where the Bastion can shoot through the walls, and it is a very strange bug.
Sadly, this is taking too much time. But after all, they've only got a certain number of developers. They're a decent small studio from what we know, so is completely normal that is taking some time.
Let's hope they're able to resolve this one as fast as possible because it can be quite annoying, especially if you're like this player and you're trying to grind out those shredder points. It can become very rage-inducing, right?
The Bug with Trophies and Achievements
The third bug we're about to cover is an issue with trophies and achievements. Right now, is not possible to unlock some of them. And we have a response from the community manager. And here's what they wrote:
“We didn't share more because we don't have updates on it yet, including an estimated date, but as I said, the team is aware and working on it.”
This response is basically because a lot of players are asking for more information, and as you can tell, they don't have much here, and they're trying to explain that they're looking into it still. Now, a member of this official Arc Raiders Discord asked the community manager, "Hey, you know, you should have just mentioned that right at the start..."
And here's what the community manager responded with:
“The previous post has been locked due to spam, most likely. We really do understand the frustration, and hope you believe when we say we're working on it. Unfortunately, things just take time, and spamming doesn't make things faster, as we do have a lot of other reports to track as well. So, it ends up just having the opposite effect.
You don't have to worry about us forgetting reports or issues, especially when we are out, where we are acknowledging the reports and saying the team is on it. That was a little difficult to find out where or how he wrote it, but yeah, they're looking into it still. And I know a lot of you have been asking me.”
And this is all we know right now. We just wanted to keep you updated on what's going on here because, as you can tell, they're still looking into it, and in the recent patch, it didn't really resolve anything. Therefore, besides exploits, they haven’t resolved the actual achievement and trophy bugs.
Unwanted friend requests
So, the last and final issue we want to cover is a major problem. At least in our opinion, for you it might not be, but it can be quite annoying.
Basically, what's going on is players have been reporting for the last few weeks that they've been receiving a ton of friend requests, specifically from real crypto trading sites, right? Where they say: "Hey, you join our site, we're going to sell you a bunch of currency, a bunch of armor, or whatever the case may be.”
Anyways, you might be wondering, how are they able to continuously send firm requests even when you've blocked them? Well, we actually have an explanation here from the community manager who wrote: "You keep receiving friend requests from them because they have different IDs. The team is currently looking into this."
That's what's going on here. Let's now wrap up today's article by going over the top recommendations from the community.
- Have the traders had randomly rotating goods? It would be nice to see other items for sale at all vendors and scarcity for others at different times, making certain items other than springs more valuable than they already are. A very nice idea indeed.
- Implement shooting out lights: That would be a nice addition, making flashlights more viable, too. Perhaps that's something they'll do in the future.
We definitely see implementing some of those in the future; they've got a lot of things they could do to improve this game still.
