If you need a Clash Royale Arena 7 deck, choose the tower-damage plan first. Use Royal Giant control when you want a defensive building and a slower lane push, Balloon pressure when your best support cards can protect an air win condition, or Hog cycle when you prefer cheap, repeatable attacks. Each list below contains exactly eight cards, and none requires a specific Hero or Evolution.
The Arena references checked on July 27, 2026 identify Arena 7 as Royal Arena, covering roughly 2,000–2,300 trophies. The three decks are recommendations for that checked card-pool boundary, not a promise of permanent meta rank or personal win rate. Supercell changes cards and progression over time, so use your live Trophy Road and card screen as the final availability check.

Three Arena 7 routes at a glance
| Route | Complete eight-card deck | Avg. Elixir | Choose it when | Do not choose it when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Royal Giant control | Royal Giant, Mini P.E.K.K.A, Valkyrie, Witch, Minions, Skeleton Army, Cannon, Arrows | 3.9 | You need a building, tank defense, and a simple defend-then-push plan | Your Royal Giant, Witch, and Mini P.E.K.K.A are all below the rest of your collection |
| Balloon pressure | Balloon, Knight, Musketeer, Fireball, Arrows, Mega Minion, Valkyrie, Skeletons | 3.4 | You want one decisive air threat and have reliable ranged support | You repeatedly lose your Musketeer and Mega Minion before Balloon reaches the river |
| Hog cycle | Hog Rider, Valkyrie, Musketeer, Fireball, Zap, Skeletons, Cannon, Mega Minion | 3.1 | Your cheap cards are well leveled and you can track the opponent's building cycle | You need every Hog push to carry four support cards to deal damage |
Royal Giant control is the most forgiving route here because it has Cannon, Mini P.E.K.K.A, two swarm answers, and a ranged support unit. Balloon pressure is more exacting: Balloon is your only direct tower threat, so losing both air-support cards before an attack leaves the push easy to isolate. Hog cycle has the fastest four-card rotation, but speed only matters if you defend cheaply enough to send the next Hog Rider.
The current July 2026 RoyaleTracker Arena 7 reference lists the Royal Giant build above as a recommended Royal Arena deck. CR Deck Builder's Arena 7 dataset, last updated March 29, 2026, supplies the complete Balloon and Hog lists, their card costs, and an all-eight-cards-available-at-or-before-Arena-7 filter. Its published win rates come from higher-level play rather than Arena 7-only matches, so this guide does not reuse them as Arena 7 performance claims.
Use this opening-hand protocol before your first push
The card lists and costs are source-checked; the opener, matchup, upgrade, and route-switch sequences below are editorial recommendations based on card roles and Elixir commitment, not an Arena 7-only tested playbook. Because the first four cards vary, use a hierarchy rather than expecting one scripted hand:
- Pause before committing. Give the opponent the first information when your hand only contains core defenders and a win condition, but play before you leak Elixir at a full bar.
- Cycle only a card you can afford to lose. Skeletons in the back is the lowest-commitment opener in the Hog and Balloon decks. Do not cycle Cannon just to reveal the next card.
- Keep one answer for the opposite lane. If the opponent starts a high-Elixir unit behind the King Tower, Supercell's current 1v1 guidance supports pressuring the other lane—but only if you retain enough Elixir to defend.
- Do not reveal every support card. A first push should identify the opponent's building, swarm, or air answer. It should not spend both spells and both defenders at once.
| Deck | Safe opener when available | Acceptable information play | Avoid as a blind opener |
|---|---|---|---|
| Royal Giant control | Wait and defend first | Valkyrie behind the King Tower only if you can still answer the other lane | Royal Giant at the bridge, Skeleton Army in the back, or Cannon with no target |
| Balloon pressure | Skeletons in the back | Knight behind the King Tower | Naked Balloon at the bridge or Musketeer plus Mega Minion before seeing the opponent's air answer |
| Hog cycle | Skeletons in the back | A single Hog Rider once you can absorb the return push | Cannon with no target or Hog Rider plus Fireball before a target is visible |

Royal Giant control: defend, preserve, then cross the river
Deck: Royal Giant, Mini P.E.K.K.A, Valkyrie, Witch, Minions, Skeleton Army, Cannon, Arrows. The card costs total 31 Elixir, giving a calculated average of 3.9.
Royal Giant is the win condition. Cannon pulls building-targeting troops toward the center, Mini P.E.K.K.A handles a high-health ground target, and Valkyrie removes grouped ground units. Witch or Minions should survive a defense before you add Royal Giant; placing every support card behind him from zero gives the opponent one expensive target for splash damage or a spell.
Royal Giant matchup actions
- Into a heavy ground tank: place Cannon centrally, then add Mini P.E.K.K.A after the tank commits. If Mini P.E.K.K.A survives, Royal Giant in front creates the counterpush.
- Into swarm defense: hold Arrows until the swarm actually blocks Royal Giant or surrounds a defender. Valkyrie is the reusable ground-swarm answer.
- Into air pressure: keep Minions separate from Witch so one spell does not remove both answers. Cannon does not solve the air lane.
- Into a defensive building: do not stack Skeleton Army behind Royal Giant. Force the building, defend the return push, and make the next Royal Giant attack when the building is out of the opponent's four-card cycle.
Upgrade Royal Giant first, then Mini P.E.K.K.A or Witch according to which interaction is failing. Upgrade Cannon before spreading Gold across both Minions and Skeleton Army if tank pulls are the repeated loss point.
Switch away from this route if Royal Giant cannot survive long enough to shoot, while your Hog Rider or Balloon is several levels higher. A coherent deck built around your stronger win condition is better than forcing an underleveled one.
Balloon pressure: create one protected air window
Deck: Balloon, Knight, Musketeer, Fireball, Arrows, Mega Minion, Valkyrie, Skeletons. The costs total 27 Elixir, giving 3.4 average Elixir.
Balloon is the only win condition, so your job is to create one clean air window. Knight and Valkyrie handle ground pressure; a Musketeer or Mega Minion that survives defense can support the next Balloon push. Skeletons cycle and distract. Fireball is for a meaningful defender-plus-tower or grouped-support hit, while Arrows handles fragile swarms.
Balloon matchup actions
- Into a building: make the opponent place it first. Defend, preserve Musketeer or Mega Minion, then play Balloon when the building is out of cycle. This deck has no reset spell, so a blind Balloon into an unknown building is the wrong information trade.
- Into multiple air defenders: do not send Balloon every time you reach five Elixir. Use a surviving Musketeer to force one answer, then attack when the second air defender is unavailable.
- Into a fast bridge push: Knight or Valkyrie must stabilize the ground lane before Balloon is added. Trading your tower for a speculative Balloon connection is rarely necessary in single Elixir.
- Into fragile swarms: decide which spell answers the actual defense. Arrows is the cheaper swarm clear; Fireball should be saved for a more valuable grouped target when possible.
Upgrade Balloon, then Musketeer, then Mega Minion. If the Balloon reaches the tower but deals too little, prioritize Balloon. If it never reaches the river because you lose every defense, support levels or timing—not another offensive card—are the bottleneck.
Switch to Royal Giant control if you need Cannon and Mini P.E.K.K.A to stabilize heavy ground pushes. Switch to Hog cycle if Balloon is underleveled but your Hog Rider and cheap support package are already close in level.
Hog cycle: win the four-card race without overspending
Deck: Hog Rider, Valkyrie, Musketeer, Fireball, Zap, Skeletons, Cannon, Mega Minion. The costs total 25 Elixir, giving 3.1 average Elixir.
Hog Rider is the win condition; the other seven cards either defend cheaply or help you reach the next Hog. Supercell's current 1v1 guide states that after a card is played, four more cards must be played before it returns. Use that rule to track the opponent's building or main Hog counter rather than sending identical pushes into the same answer.
Hog matchup actions
- Into a tank: pull with Cannon and use Musketeer or Mega Minion at a safe distance. A surviving defender can support a single Hog Rider; it does not require Valkyrie and both spells.
- Into a building: record the four cards played after the building. Defend with cheap cards, then send Hog Rider when the counter has not returned.
- Into swarm plus splash: do not play Skeletons and Mega Minion together into one splash unit. Valkyrie handles grouped ground units; Zap is the low-cost reset or cleanup tool.
- Into opposite-lane pressure: Hog Rider can punish a heavy investment, but keep Cannon or Valkyrie affordable. A tower trade is a decision, not the default opening plan.
Upgrade Hog Rider, then Musketeer, Cannon, and Valkyrie. Fireball matters when its level changes defender or tower interactions, but do not upgrade it ahead of a win condition that cannot threaten the tower.
Leave Hog cycle if you keep adding expensive support because the core defenders are underleveled. The deck's advantage is a 3.1 average and a fast rotation; turning it into a heavy push removes that advantage.
Matchup repair grid: change the action before changing the deck
| Repeated loss | First replay check | Repair inside the deck | Switch route when |
|---|---|---|---|
| A tank reaches your tower with support intact | Did you pull toward the center before adding damage? | Royal Giant/Hog: protect Cannon; Balloon: defend with Knight or Valkyrie plus ranged air-ground support | You need Cannon and Mini P.E.K.K.A but are playing Balloon pressure |
| Your win condition meets the same building every attack | Did you count four cards after the building? | Defend one cycle and attack before the building returns | You cannot defend cheaply enough to create the window |
| Air units survive every defense | Did one spell remove both air defenders? | Separate Musketeer, Mega Minion, Witch, or Minions | Your only leveled air answer does not fit the chosen list |
| Swarms erase every push | Did you spend Arrows, Zap, or Valkyrie before the swarm appeared? | Assign one spell and one reusable troop to swarm duty | Your spell levels no longer clear the intended targets after an update |
| You lose after one oversized push | How much Elixir did you leave for the other lane? | Stop the push after the win condition plus one surviving support unit | The deck only works when you stack three fresh support cards behind the win condition |
After two losses, review the first moment you spent more Elixir than the opponent—not only the final tower hit. Keep the deck unchanged for several games while testing one repair. If the same role remains impossible because of card levels or missing cards, then switch the entire route.
The same current Supercell 1v1 rules say Trophy Road does not cap card or King Tower levels and matchmaking does not consider the levels in your deck. That makes level gaps a real stop condition: a correct card list cannot guarantee equal interactions. Supercell's July 6 balance update also shows why permanent “best deck” claims age badly, even though its listed changes do not invalidate the three base eight-card lists here.
FAQ
What is the best Clash Royale Arena 7 deck?
There is no permanent universal best deck. Royal Giant control is the most forgiving of these three when you need a building and strong ground defense; Balloon pressure is the air route; Hog cycle is the faster option when your low-cost support cards are better leveled.
What trophy range is Arena 7 in Clash Royale?
The current third-party Arena reference checked on July 27, 2026 labels Royal Arena as Arena 7 and places it at 2,000–2,300 trophies. Confirm the live Trophy Road in your client after a progression update.
What is a safe first play with an Arena 7 deck?
Waiting before either player commits is a low-risk option, but do not leak Elixir indefinitely. With Hog cycle or Balloon pressure, Skeletons in the back is the lowest-commitment opener when available. With Royal Giant control, defend first instead of opening with Royal Giant at the bridge.
Do Arena 7 decks need a Hero or Evolution?
No. The three lists here work as base-card decks. Current Supercell support places the Evolution Slot at Arena 3 and the Hero Slot at Arena 5, but an unlocked form is optional and should not replace a missing defensive role or win condition.
Should I replace a missing Royal Giant, Balloon, or Hog Rider with any high-damage card?
No. Those cards define different tower-damage plans. If the intended win condition is missing or far below your other cards, move to the complete route whose win condition you can actually support instead of swapping one unrelated damage card into the same seven-card shell.
