Step 1: Complete the Apollo Bestiary (12 Fish)
All 12 must be caught before any puzzle progress registers.

The bottleneck is Helios Sunray. It only hatches when there is a Solar Chorus event (see Step 4). Delay not but do everything first, before you can give your thought to the Solar Chorus window, everything to Helios.
Step 2: Play Instruments in Exact Order
There are five instruments surrounding the Layer 2 map. Treat them in the following established order:
Drum - Banjo - Saxophone - Cello - Harp.
Incorrect order = no advancement, no error information. The direction leading to the ominous tree and the area of the seal will not open without the proper sequence. In case nothing occurs after contacting Harp, go back to Drum; one of the contacts probably did not count.

Step 5: Complete the Dodge Minigame
Once Helios Sunray is caught and the tablets are lit, a dodge sequence ensues. Light beams coming at you shoot over the arena, miss, and you are hurt, putting you back in place. A glow effect is telegraphed on the beams about one second before hitting. Move sideways instead of sideways; the frontal hitboxes are larger than they seem.
