Why Gilgamesh Is Worth the Grind

Sailor Piece Gilgamesh, officially renamed King of Heroes in-game, is an S-tier melee style with massive AoE, invincibility frames, and one of the strongest F ultimates in the entire game. Gilgamesh sits firmly in the S-tier of the current Sailor Piece melee tier list alongside Anos and Blessed Maiden. Its value comes from three specific advantages that hold up from mid-game into endgame content:

  • AoE dominance  V skill summons a field of golden circles that continuously fire light beams, making it the best style for AFK farming mob packs
  • Invincibility frames multiple abilities carry i-frames that let you phase through boss AoE attacks without taking damage when timed correctly. F 'sF ultimate scaling, the Babylon Key unlocks a large AoE fire blast from the sky that melts groups and scales with full Melee stat investment into endgame damage ranges.

The total unlock cost is substantial:  25,000,000 Beli, 22,500 Gems, and five separate boss drop types. Prepare the currency before you finish farming materials. Running out of Gems after securing every item is the most avoidable delay in the entire process.

How to Prepare for the Gilgamesh Boss: Minimum Level & Luck Setup

A minimum level of 4,000 is recommended before attempting the Gilgamesh boss. You need enough DPS to clear its 300,000,000 HP on normal difficulty at a pace that makes the farming loop efficient. Below that threshold, each kill takes long enough that the grind becomes unsustainable.

Stack your luck before touching the boss. The Golden King Title drops at 1% to 1.5%, and the Phantasm Core at 0.5% to 0.75%  these two items are your real bottlenecks. Every point of Luck you add before farming directly reduces your expected kill count for both. Purchase the Luck stat upgrade from the Infinite Tower Upgrade NPC on Tower Island, equip luck-based titles, use Fortune Rune if available, and activate any luck-boosting race or clan passive before your first spawn.

Note: Unlocking Gilgamesh requires specific legendary items that are notoriously hard to drop. To save time and guarantee your success, you can Buy Sailor Piece Items through a reliable marketplace.

Step 1: Farm Broken Swords on Slime Island

Broken Swords, also called Broken Glass in some game versions, drop exclusively from sword-wielding enemies. Slime Warriors on Slime Island are the best source in the game.

Teleport to Slime Island, stand in the center of the Slime Warrior spawn area, activate Auto Quest and Auto Skill, and run any strong AoE build. Slime Warriors are Level 8,000  enough DPS to one-shot or two-shot them, making the loop significantly faster. Target 300 total Broken Swords before moving on: 99 for Divine Grail crafting, 100 for the Babylon Key, and the rest as a buffer for additional attempts.

Step 2: Craft Divine Grails on Boss Island

Teleport to Boss Island. Climb the right giant concrete hand to reach the chessboard arena at the top. The Divine Grail Crafter NPC sits on the left side of that area, next to the Babylon Key Crafter.

Each Divine Grail costs 3 Broken Swords. Craft at least 33 Divine Grails for your initial farming session that covers 33 boss spawns, which is a realistic number to clear most drops with good luck optimization active.

Step 3: Pawn and Farm the Gilgamesh Boss

The Boss Summoner NPC sits in the central area of Boss Island near the large rift. Each spawn costs 1 Divine Grail, 500,000 Beli, and 500 Gems.

Boss ModeHPRecommendation
Normal300,000,000Default farming mode
Extreme5,000,000,000Better drop rates require a strong build

Farm on Extreme only if your build clears it in under 3 minutes. Slower kills on Extreme take more resources per drop than efficient Normal. The drop rate improvement does not compensate for poor kill speed at mid-game DPS levels.

Use i-frame abilities during boss AoE attacks to maintain uptime without healing items. Stand near the spawn point with Auto Skills active for consistent AFK-style farming between manual kill runs.

Step 4: Gilgamesh Drop Rates & Material Requirements (Phantasm Core Luck Guide)

Every material drops from the Gilgamesh boss. The Golden King Title and Phantasm Core are your two progression gates. Secure these before counting anything else as progress.

ItemQuantityDrop RatePriority
Golden King Title11%–1.5%Bottleneck #1
Throne Remnant1211.5%–20%Farms fast
Ancient Shard64.5%–6.5%Mid priority
Golden Essence31.5%–2.5%Mid priority
Phantasm Core10.5%–0.75%Bottleneck #2

With full luck optimization, most players clear all drops in 15 to 40 kills. Without luck investment, that range extends significantly. Do not adjust your build mid-far; commit to maximum luck setup from kill one.

You also need 25,000,000 Beli and 22,500 Gems ready before the exchange. Farm these through boss kills, events, and daily content throughout the grind rather than treating them as a separate task afterward. Need to close the currency gap fast? Step 5: Unlock Gilgamesh at the King of Heroes NPC

The King of Heroes Trainer NPC stands on top of the giant hand statue above the boss arena on Boss Island, visible from a distance due to its elevated position. Climb the hand structure and interact with the NPC. Hand over all five item types plus the 25,000,000 Beli and 22,500 Gems to complete the exchange. The Gilgamesh fighting style equips immediately from your inventory.

Step 6: Unlock the F Ultimate with the Babylon Key

The base Gilgamesh kit is strong. The F move makes it genuinely S-tier. Unlocking it requires the Babylon Key and one requirement that trips up almost every player.

Babylon Key crafting requirements:

ItemQuantitySource
Servant RaceMust be equippedRace Reroll
Broken Sword100Slime Warriors
Golden Essence5Gilgamesh boss
Phantasm Core2Gilgamesh boss

Servant Race must be actively equipped, not just owned, when you interact with the Babylon Key Crafter NPC. The NPC performs an equipment check, not an inventory check. Reroll your race using Race Rerolls until you land Servant, equip it, then visit the Babylon Key Crafter next to the Divine Grail Crafter on Boss Island. Craft the key, open your inventory, click it, and confirm consumption. The F move permanently unlocks on your Gilgamesh kit.

Full Gilgamesh Moveset

MoveEffect
M1Large hitbox slashes  hits, multiple enemies from extended range
ZTwo consecutive light beam projectiles, fast, single target
XGolden circles surround enemies, and fire light beams outward
CCone-shaped weapons swing with  strong AoE clearance
VSummons a sustained field of golden circles, firing the best AFK move
FLarge AoE fire blast from sky, unlocked via Babylon Key, is the highest damage move

All Melee stat points go directly into Gilgamesh's ability damage. Max Melee investment is the only stat priority for this style; do not split into other categories.

FAQ

Can I farm Golden Essence for the Babylon Key at the same time as farming for the fighting style unlock?

Yes, and you should. The Babylon Key requires 5 Golden Essence, while the fighting style unlock only needs 3. Target 8 total Golden Essence across your farming sessions to cover both requirements simultaneously, saving a full additional farming cycle after you unlock the base style.

Does the Servant Race requirement for the Babylon Key mean I permanently need to stay a Servant?

No, the race check only applies during the Babylon Key crafting interaction. Once the key is crafted and consumed, the F move is permanently unlocked regardless of which race you subsequently reroll into. Switch freely after the Babylon Key purchase is confirmed.

Is Extreme mode actually worth the 5 billion HP grind for better drop rates?

Only if your build clears it in under 3 minutes consistently. The improved drop rates on Extreme are real, but slower kill times mean higher resource expenditure per drop. Test one Extreme kill with full luck optimization active. If the clear time exceeds 3 minutes, return to Normal mode and invest further in your build before attempting Extreme farming again.
