Most Pokémon GO events are just excuses to transfer 500 Yungoos to the professor. But the Pokémon Go Pinch Perfect Event is different. It isn’t just filler; it is the official debut of Klawf, the Ambush Pokémon that looks like a rock crab with serious anger issues, and the first-ever chance to hunt Shiny Dhelmise.
In case you are sick of generic spawns, it is high time you opened your eyes this week. Between January 6 and January 13, 2026, the game is dedicating itself to all that is with claws, pincers, and a bad attitude. However, the twist here is that the event features an unclear rotating habitat program, and you may miss the most out of it unless you are attentive.
Don't wander aimlessly. This is the final Pokémon Go Pinch Perfect Event Guide so that you can stock up on the new releases, claim the XP bonuses, and get the most out of the shiny without having to waste PokeBalls.
Klawf & Shiny Dhelmise

The title of this event is Klawf. This unequivocal Rock-type of the Paldea district is finally on the scene, and it is breeding in the wild, it is meeting in raids, and concealing itself in Field Research. It does not evolve, meaning that you do not have to worry about cultivating 400 candies, but one with high IV deserves to be in your collection (and perhaps Great League spice).
The real treasure, however, is Shiny Dhelmise. The seaweed-anchor ghost has always been a rare spawn, but its shiny form—featuring a striking red anchor—is finally unlocked. This is a perma-boosted shiny candidate in the future, but for now, your best bet is hitting 3-Star Raids and Field Research.
Event Bonuses: The XP Grind
- 2× XP for catching Pokémon. (This is the big one. Pop a Lucky Egg and practice your Excellent Throws.
- Increased Shiny Chance for Corphish, Dwebble, and Clauncher.

The Rotating Timed Research Schedule
This is where things get tricky. Niantic has split the free Timed Research into three distinct windows. If you log in on Friday, hoping to do the Dwebble research, you are already too late. You need to play consistently throughout the week to get all the Klawf encounters.
We have broken down the schedule in this Pokémon Go Pinch Perfect Event Guide so you never miss a window.
| Research Phase | Dates & Times | Focus Pokémon | Top Rewards |
| Part 1 | Jan 6 (10 AM) – Jan 8 (10 AM) | Dwebble | Dwebble Candy, XP, Klawf Encounter |
| Part 2 | Jan 8 (10 AM) – Jan 10 (10 AM) | Corphish | Corphish Candy, Stardust, Klawf Encounter |
| Part 3 | Jan 10 (10 AM) – Jan 11 (8 PM) | Clauncher | Clauncher Candy, Klawf Encounter |
Pro Tip: Each phase resets. You must finish the tasks (Catch 5 Dwebble, etc.) before the cutoff time, or the rewards vanish forever.
What to Catch & What to Ignore

Not all spawns are created equal. While Sandshrew and Tentacool are cluttering the map, you need to focus your attention on the value targets.
The Must-Click List
- Binacle: It gives massive Stardust per catch. With the event bonuses, this is your primary farm.
- Drilbur: Excadrill is still a top-tier Ground attacker for Raids. Farm the XL Candy while you can.
- Tirtouga & Archen: These fossil Pokémon are usually incredibly rare. If you see their silhouettes, run for them.
- Dhelmise: If you see one in the wild, click it immediately. It’s rare, and it might be Shiny.
The Shiny Hunt Priorities
All the Corphish and Claunchers that you come across should be checked out because of the higher shiny rates. Shiny Clauncher is transformed into a red lobster (Clawitzer), which is arguably one of the best shinies in the game.
Paid vs. Free: Is the Ticket Worth $2?
For US$1.99, you can buy the Premium Timed Research. Is it bait, or is it value?
- The Goods: 2 Premium Battle Passes, extra Klawf encounters, and early access to Shiny Dhelmise checks.
- The Verdict: If you raid often, the 2 Battle Passes alone are worth about $1.50 of the value. You are essentially paying $0.50 for extra Klawf and Dhelmise checks.
- Our Advice: If you care about the Shiny Dhelmise or want a high-IV Klawf, buy it. If you are just here for the XP, skip it. The free rotating research gives you enough Klawf for the Pokédex entry.
Field Research: Stop Deleting These Tasks!
PokéStops will be dropping event-exclusive tasks. Do not auto-delete them. Some of them are the only way to grind high-IV encounters without spending raid passes.
| Task Category | Likely Reward | Priority Level |
| Catch 5 Crabs/Water Types | Corphish / Clauncher | Medium (Shiny Checking) |
| Power Up Pokémon 5 Times | Klawf / Dhelmise | High (Rare Spawns) |
| Make 3 Great Throws | Dwebble | Low (Unless Shiny Hunting) |
How to Prepare (The Night Before)
- Clear your Storage: You are going to be catching everything for that 2× XP bonus. Make at least 200 slots.
- Stack Field Research: If you have saved encounters, catch them when the event starts to utilize the XP multiplier.
- Buddy Up:
FAQs
How do I get Klawf if I miss the Timed Research windows?
Klawf is spawning in the wild and in 1-Star Raids throughout the entire event. The rotating research is just a bonus source; you won't be locked out of the Pokémon if you miss a specific day.
Are the shiny rates for Dhelmise boosted for everyone?
No, Dhelmise uses the permaboost rate (approx 1/64) because it is a rare spawn/raid exclusive, unlike the standard 1/500 wild rate. However, Corphish and Clauncher have specific event-boosted rates.
Can I complete the Paid Research after the event ends?
No. This is Timed Research, not Special Research. If you buy the ticket but don't finish the tasks by Sunday, January 11, at 8:00 PM, the rewards and encounters disappear forever.
To instantly secure a rare Shiny Dhelmise without the grind, many collectors may find a Pokemon Go account for sale that already holds these treasures. Once equipped, you can easily purchase cheap Pokecoins to stock up on Premium Battle Passes, ensuring you never miss a high-value Klawf raid battle.
