Requirements and How to Start the Hogyoku Quest

The Hogyoku Quest is the only way into Sailor Piece Soul Society, and most players waste 30 minutes backtracking because they either missed the exact order requirement or had no landmark reference for the harder fragments. You need Level 8,500 XP minimum before the Gin NPC will interact with you. Below that threshold, the quest simply does not activate grind mobs or boss kills on any island until you hit it.
One detail most players skip: the Hogyoku Quest replaces your currently active mission the moment you accept it. Finish any pending quest before talking to Gin, or you lose that progress permanently.
Teleport to Hueco Mundo Island and run to the far left corner of the island, past the large bone remnants, directly left of the Aizen boss spawn area.
Gi, with white hair, a wide grin, and a blue circle on the ground, is the NPC you want. Talk to him to accept the quest. All six Sailor Piece Hogyoku Fragment locations immediately begin glowing pink and become interactable.

Critical rule: Fragments must be collected in exact order from #1 to #6. Interacting with any fragment out of sequence does not register progress and forces you to start the collection over. Every competitor mentions this; we are emphasizing it because it is the single reason most players get stuck. To avoid a full reset, constantly check your Quest Tracker on the right side of your screen. If the fragment count doesn't increase after you interact with an orb, you’ve likely broken the sequence—stop immediately and return to the correct island in the #1–#6 chain.

All 6 Sailor Piece Hogyoku Fragment Locations In Order
Fragment #1 Snow Island
Teleport to Snow Island. Run to the opposite end from the spawn toward the small hills and pond area.

Find the Artifact Master NPC and two shops. The fragment tree is directly behind that shop cluster. Climb the branch of the red mushroom tree and interact with the glowing pink orb sitting on the branch. Straightforward takes under 30 seconds once you spot the tree.

Fragment #2 Shibuya Station
Teleport to Shibuya Station.

From the spawn, walk straight to the building displaying red and green neon billboards. It sits immediately behind the Yuji world boss spawn point.

Spam-jump up the building exterior to reach the rooftop terrace. The second Hogyoku Fragment sits in the corner closest to the green billboard. The billboard color combination makes this building easy to identify from a distance.

Fragment #3 Hueco Mundo

You are already on Hueco Mundo from the quest start. From Gin's location, walk a few steps right toward the Aizen boss spawn area.

Look right of Aizen for the brown root or wooden branch structure protruding from the ground. Climb straight up; the third fragment sits on top. Convenient placement means you can grab this one immediately after accepting the quest before teleporting anywhere else, saving a return trip.

Fragment #4 Shinjuku Island
Teleport to Shinjuku Island.

From spawn, locate the tall destroyed building near the spawn crystal, look for the short, wide building next to it as your landmark.

Jump up the building platforms to the second-from-top level and move through the open window or protruding ledge into the interior. The fragment is tucked in an inside corner behind rubble, don't just scan the balconies, you must step inside the broken window frame This is the most platforming-intensive of the six; bring a movement skill and take it slowly. One wrong jump sends you back to the bottom. Look for the building marked with a faded 'Open' neon sign or a partially collapsed rooftop to identify the right spot.

Fragment #5 Slime Island
Teleport to Slime Island.

From the spawn head, left past the Slime Warriors and the Rimuru Mastery trainer. Pass the trainer, turn around, and look for the tree in the center of the area.

The fifth Hogyoku Fragment sits on the first branch. Jump up and interact. This is consistently called the easiest fragment of the six. The pink glow stands out clearly against the tree branches.

Fragment #6 Judgement Island
Teleport to Judgement Island.

From the spawn, run right along the island edge toward the tallest rock and iceberg formation. Climb to the top, then carefully drop down from the right edge onto the small ledge below rather than jumping outward.

The final Sailor Piece Hogyoku Fragment location is on that ledge. Take the drop slowly; missing the ledge means falling off the island entirely and climbing back up. And here is how you have all Sailor Piece Hogyoku Fragment Locations.

How to Unlock Sailor Piece Soul Society
After collecting all six fragments in order, teleport back to Hueco Mundo and talk to Gin again. A Hogyoku Portal opens directly beside him. You have exactly 120 seconds to step through before it closes permanently for that session. Walk through immediately.
After your first entry, Sailor Piece Soul Society becomes permanently accessible through the standard Teleport Portal on every island. You never repeat the quest.

Mastering Soul Society: How to Defeat True Aizen & Farm Sigils Fast

Soul Society is a full endgame island. Approach it only after reaching max level with Haki leveled appropriately. The Quincy enemies here sit at Level 10,750 with both ranged and melee attack patterns. We strongly recommend having at least Level 2 Haki (Busoshoku) and a high-DPS fruit like Venom or Magma (Awakened) before entering. Without high block-break capabilities, these mobs will out-sustain most mid-tier builds, making your Chrysalis Sigil farm painfully slow.

What's available immediately on arrival:
- True Aizen NPC exchanges specific items for the True Aizen sword directly
- True Aizen F Master NPC, located on the roof of the tallest building at the back, gives mastery quests
- Quest 17 NPC gives the Quincy Purge quest for ongoing rewards
- Quincy enemies AFK-farmable mobs that drop Chrysalis Sigils at approximately 5% drop rate, faster with Luck runes active
True Aizen boss tiers:
| Difficulty | Chrysalis Sigils Required | Boss HP |
| Easy | 3 Sigils | 850,000,000 |
| Hard | 3 Sigils | Higher HP pool |
| Extreme | 4 Sigils | Max difficulty |
Defeating True Aizen rewards significant EXP, weapons, and rare Transmutation Shards at Mythic rarity. Farm Quincy enemies consistently for Sigil accumulation before attempting the boss. Common Mistakes That Reset Your Progress
- Collecting out of order the most common reason the quest stalls. Fragment #3 on Hueco Mundo is easy to grab first since you start there, but do not. Follow the exact #1 to #6 sequence
- Missing the 120-second portal after talking to Gin post-collection, enter the portal immediately. Do not stop to check inventory or chat.
- Accepting the quest mid-mission Hogyoku Quest replaces your active mission on acceptance. Always clear your current quest first.t
- Falling on Fragment #4 and #6, Shinjuku and Judgement both require careful platforming. Rushing causes falls that cost two to three minutes of recovery time.
FAQs
Does the Hogyoku Fragment also drop as a regular item in Sailor Piece?
Yes, separately from the quest collectibles, the Hogyoku Fragment exists as a Mythical-rarity drop from the Aizen open-world boss on Hueco Mundo at a 3.6% drop rate. This drop is unrelated to the quest fragments and does not count toward Soul Society unlock progress.
Can I re-enter Soul Society if I log out after my first visit?
Yes, once you enter Soul Society for the first time through the Hogyoku Portal, it permanently appears in every Teleport Portal across all islands. Log out, switch servers, or rejoin anytime, and Soul Society remains accessible without repeating the quest.
My fragment count stopped progressing mid-quest. What went wrong?
You collected a fragment out of the required #1 to #6 sequence. The quest only registers fragments interacted with in exact order. Return to the last correctly collected fragment's island, verify your current count in your quest tracker, and continue from the next fragment in sequence. You do not need to recollect ones already registered.
