An FM Vulpiruth is not automatically the right upgrade from a base Vulpiruth. Check the proven mutations, trade route, and soul-bound risk before you spend more, counter, hold, or switch listings.

The Vulpiruth baseline is more than “FM or NM”
The public Vulpiruth reference identifies Vulpiruth as a legacy season dragon from Legacy Dragon Seasons 19 and 31. It also lists Nature’s Boon Egg and Stormbound Egg routes, three age states, breeding, auctioning, and trading. A season label is provenance; a traded dragon is the deliverable.
Vulpiruth has five species mutations: Extended Fangs & Nose Horn, Head Horns and Extra Frills, Floating Frills on Neck and Tail, Leg Tufts, and Extended Tail Tuft. The Dragon Adventures mutations reference says mutations are cosmetic and that every species normally has five unique mutations.
That distinction matters before you pay for FM. A base Vulpiruth may be a collector copy or mutation project. “FM” is a five-feature cosmetic claim, not proof of a season or egg route.
Use the missing-mutation budget gate
Start with the exact dragon in front of you, then choose the matching path:
Path A: Zero to three proven mutations
Non-breeding dragons may arrive with up to three mutations, while a fully mutated dragon cannot be obtained through natural or breeding means. If the Vulpiruth has one or more visible features, record each one by name instead of accepting “1 mut,” “2 mut,” or “almost FM” as a complete description.
Upgrade only if the current dragon already has the source, age, colors, materials, and trade route you want. Otherwise, counter it as a base dragon or switch listings before adding mutation costs.
Path B: Four proven mutations
One missing feature can make the upgrade decision look simple, but a Mutation Potion gives one random mutation that the dragon does not already have. The Mutation Potion rule means the final step still carries route friction; do not treat “4/5” as a guaranteed one-step completion unless the current mechanic and item route are confirmed.
Ask which feature is missing and whether the seller prices it as four mutations or FM. If the offer charges for the finished state, wait or counter at the proven state. Set a maximum spend before using the potion.
Path C: FM is already proven
An FM Vulpiruth should show all five species-specific features, not only the abbreviation. Confirm age, colors/materials, element or cosmetic trait, source wording, and tradeability separately. A proven FM with an unclear route can be weaker than a lower-mutation copy with a fully documented state.
Consider the upgrade only when all five features are readable and the listing matches your use. If colors, age, or trade route are hidden, counter the missing fields rather than paying the whole FM claim.
Breeding can destroy the route you are trying to upgrade
Vulpiruth is breedable, but the public reference records a critical boundary: the female parent becomes Soul Bound and cannot be auctioned, bred, or traded. The same rule applies to co-hatching, where both players’ parent Vulpiruths become Soul Bound.
Breeding is not a neutral alternative to buying an FM listing: it can create a mutation project while removing the parent from the tradable market. Before breeding or co-hatching, decide whether you want a personal project or a tradeable asset. If you need an exit route, hold the original.
Separate the upgrade from the source story
Legacy Dragon Seasons 19 and 31, Nature’s Boon Egg, and Stormbound Egg are not interchangeable proof. The public reference records 2% Nature’s Boon and 2.5% Stormbound hatch chances, with Lucky Egg changing Stormbound to 3.5%. These are route mechanics, not current value multipliers.
If a listing says “old Vulp,” “season Vulp,” or “egg Vulp,” ask which source is claimed and whether the current state supports it. Source cannot prove FM; a mutation screenshot cannot prove season.
Confirm the marketplace entity after the upgrade math
U7BUY has a Dragon Adventures items category and broader marketplace page. Both returned HTTP 200 on July 15, 2026, but neither proves exact Vulpiruth stock, seller, price, or delivery.
If an exact Vulpiruth listing appears, confirm species, source, age, mutation features, colors/materials, soul-bound or tradeable state, price, stock, seller fields, and delivery method. If it is not shown, record a checked snapshot, not permanent unavailability. Confirm the entity first, then inspect the category listing.
Choose the route that matches your goal
- Buy or trade: the Vulpiruth state is readable, the five-feature claim is accurate, and the dragon remains tradeable if you need an exit.
- Counter: the species is proven, but the seller prices an unproven FM, source, age, or cosmetic field.
- Upgrade: the base dragon already matches your desired source and cosmetics, the missing mutations are named, and you have a fixed maximum spend.
- Hold: the project is attractive, but the mutation route or final state is unclear.
- Wait or skip: the listing hides mutation features, asks you to risk a tradeable parent through breeding, or requires account access.

Can breeding create a tradeable FM Vulpiruth?
