We have some crazy Grand Theft Auto 6 news to talk about today, including some good details surrounding the expected file size of the game, as well as the idea that the game could not come to PC.
GTA 6's file size has many gamers wondering how they will manage their storage

The first bit of information comes from a user on social media, and we think they need to be taken with a slight grain of salt, but still taken into consideration for those interested in the game.
While Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed the specific file size for Grand Theft Auto VI, several community experts estimate what the storage requirements could be at launch:
- 140GB or Less: Some fans believe Rockstar’s "wizardry" in optimization and history of impressive compression could allow them to fit the game into 140GB.
- 195GB: This is another popular estimation based on past Rockstar launches that aim to keep the initial size as low as possible. But given the massive scenarios present in the game, this could be a really tough cookie to crack.
- Maximum of 300GB: Many experts and insiders agree that the physical release is of the utmost importance for Rockstar. Anything that exceeds 300GB would need the use of more than three physical discs, something that is standard in the industry and may create potential problems for distributors.
Of course, all this is speculation. But it is a good exercise to imagine the space that we will have to reserve in the storage of our consoles to be able to play the game at launch. We wouldn’t worry so much about. After all, Rockstar has an incredible track record optimizing their games.

What's all this talk about the launch window?
Just as much as other games want to avoid Grand Theft Auto 6, GTA 6 also wants to avoid some other pretty big titles, too. We think that, at the end of the day, it's a good thing that Marvel's Wolverine comes out 2 months before GTA 6.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is obviously a bigger game than Marvel Wolverine, but we think GTA 6 still doesn't want to have to compete with as little as they can. Therefore, we think it benefits both parties to know when the game is going to be coming out, and how confident Rockstar Games' parent company is.
And it looks like if we believe the info available so far, they have told the PS5 makers and the Xbox Series X and S makers that it is still going to be coming out in November. And that's good news!
Sony’s Potential Shift Away from PC

Now, some other interesting news is that it seems like PlayStation 5 could be moving away from actually putting their games on PC.
And even though this isn't a story relating to Grand Theft Auto 6, it’s kind of is because GTA 6 is not coming out immediately on PC. And of course, there's no confirmation that it is. And we know in the past, Rockstar Games has been hesitant to release titles on PC.
The exact context belongs to the latest edition of Jason Trier's podcast, which is the TripleClick podcast; he and his co-host Kirk Hamilton were actually talking about how, in the future, it looks like Sony won't put their games on PC and they will only put them out on console.
You can see some of those same things coming for Sony as they have moved to multiplatform, as they begin to sort of degrade what it means to have a PlayStation because they're responding to that same force that we're talking about, that same maybe inevitable pressure of consoles is just kind of going away, and it's becoming a multiplatform world.

But now their strategy seems to be to launch their live services games on PC, but backing away from putting their exclusive console stuff, like traditional single player stuff, on PC. For the time being, it looks like Ghost of Tsushima is going to be a PS5-exclusive for the time being, for example.
We get the feeling that under the current leadership, PC has become less important. One might argue that the Jim Ryan era, the one positive thing to come out of it, is this shift to PC, but we're not confident that they have a huge vision for PC going forward.
Not to say that we won't still see some PC games happening, but we think it's not going to become more PC focused. I think if anything, it's going to become less. Therefore, you've got two reputable video game insiders saying the same thing that Sony is going to be pulling away from single-player PC ports.
And Grand Theft Auto 6 is probably going to be considered a single-player game, as if Rockstar does what it did recently. GTA 6's multiplayer will probably be like a standalone title that you have to download. So, maybe that would be considered a single-player game that they don't end up pushing over to the PC. You never know. Jason Trer did confirm that this is not speculation, though.
He went on to say, "It's not speculation. Sometimes topics come up on the show before I'm quite ready to publish a story about them. More to come soon, I'm sure. Thanks for listening to Triple Click. This week's episode was a lot of fun."
And another reputable insider, Nate the Hate, said Sony is shifting their PC strategy. Absolutely.
So, are we seeing the end of PlayStation games coming to PC? Seems like that might be the case. Again, how will this affect Grand Theft Auto 6? We don't know. But based on what happened in the past, we would say it is still probably going to arrive on the PC. It'll certainly be at a much later date.
We don't think Rockstar is going to miss out on that opportunity to get more sales for what is arguably going to be the biggest game of all time. But, as things currently stand on the consoles, that's where it's coming first, on the PlayStation 5.
Trending Rankings and Sony Partnerships

GTA 6 actually just got dethroned by Resident Evil Requiem. It's actually been on the top of the trending games page since trailer number 2 came out. But Resident Evil Requiem – the biggest launch so far in 2026 - has obviously just dethroned it. You've also got Marvel's Wolverine, which is obviously brand new to the scene. So that's a huge game.
Obviously, when more marketing comes out for Grand Theft Auto 6, we think it's pretty clear that it'll jump back up to the top spot. It'll also be interesting to see what Sony does with their bundle that they will very inevitably do for Grand Theft Auto 6.
Rockstar seemingly has a good relationship with Sony and the PlayStation consoles. For pretty much every single Grand Theft Auto, they've done some sort of bundle where you can get either a GTA-themed console or it comes with the game and a controller, special packaging, etc.
There's also a good chance that Sony will probably get some console exclusives, just like what they've done with GTA Online and Red Dead Online. And there's also a good chance that they're going to do some collector's edition as well.

We don't know if this will necessarily be limited to only the PlayStation 5, but you can see what Rockstar Games did with their past titles, like Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 5, of course. Even in their older games, they were still doing stuff like that. Like Grand Theft Auto 4 and Max Payne 3, all had their own special collector's editions with unique content.
And who knows, maybe Rockstar Games will even go a step further, and they'll give users on the PlayStation 24-hour early access or some sort of limited-edition access if there's a premium, a deluxe, or a collector's edition of the game. Who knows what they're going to do, but it looks like Sony is changing up the landscaping.
It looks like Take 2 Interactive is notifying Sony and, of course, Microsoft what's going on and when the game is coming out. There's a lot going on now. We just need to hear from Rockstar Games next. What will it be? Will it be trailer 3, the official artwork, or the ability to pre-order the game?
What are we going to hear from them next? And what system are you going to be playing this ultimate game on?
Let us know what you think in those comments down below. We'd love to hear from you guys down there. As usual, we will have prepared our system for the players looking for a GTA 6 account for sale in the future, together with the highly requested GTA 6 money.
