WuWa Tower of Adversity Environment Overview (V3.5)
The Tower of Adversity reset shifts the meta from last cycle. Aero teams, walled out of the center tower floors 3 and 4 last rotation, are free to operate there again.
The tradeoff: they now face resistance penalties on floors 1 and 2. Overall difficulty has eased slightly, but the center floor boss lineup and layered resistance spread still demand deliberate planning.
Below is the buff and resistance layout for each section.

Enemy RES
Aero -10%
Core Buff
Intro Skill grants
+Crit DMG and
+Basic ATK DMG
for 20 seconds to the character swapping in.
Floor 4 Boss
Ice mosquito type. Flighty, evasive. A positioning check, not a DPS race.
Primary Carry
Cartethyia. Fleurdelis phase runs roughly 15 seconds on field, fitting the 20-second Intro buff window.
Fallback
Jinhsi. No Aero synergy, but raw output at high investment clears.
Crit DMG +25%.
Intro Skill grants
+40% Heavy and Basic ATK DMG
for 20 seconds.
Floor 1 Boss
Aero ape. Aggressive, stays close. Stagger bar fills predictably around the 15-second mark.
Floor 2 Setup
Two Electro mobs plus a tanky spaceman. Aero teams are hard countered here by the RES penalty combined with Electro-heavy enemies.
Intended Lanes
Fusion and Spectro. Bench Aero and Electro entirely for these two floors.

Enemy Type
All enemies are
Electro.
Core Buffs
Havoc negative status effects and
Tune Break access are heavily favored.
Enemy RES
Electro RES is high across both floors. Bringing an
Electro carry is self-sabotage.
Floor 3 Gauntlet
Four enemy waves ending with
Tempest Mephis. Multi-target coverage is essential.
Floor 4 Bosses
Mech Abomination (tanky, telegraphed) into
Thundering Mephis. Charged AoE with a ~1.5-second windup that one-shots squishy supports.
WuWa Tower of Adversity(V3.5) Enemy Lineup Analysis
Left and right tower bosses are standard encounters. The center tower is where the rotation defines itself.
Center floor 1 is gated by the Aero ape. Fast, stays in melee range, punishes channel-reliant carries. Its stagger bar fills on a predictable timer. Hold burst until the stagger triggers around 15 seconds. Dumping cooldowns on entry means 25 seconds of weak unbuffed attacks.
Floor 2 tests add clear speed. Two Electro mobs spawn alongside a high-HP center unit. Burn the adds first. The center unit alone is manageable. All three at once overwhelm most teams.
Floor 3 cycles four enemy sets before Tempest Mephis: four spawn positions, four chances to misposition, four windows to drop buff alignment. Multi-target coverage is mandatory. Single-target specialists bleed seconds on every wave.
Floor 4 opens with Mech Abomination, tanky but predictable, then Thundering Mephis. Its charged AoE is the most dangerous attack in this rotation. Visual cue: a crackling sphere above its head for roughly 1.5 seconds. If you are mid-animation when it fires, your support dies. Dodge cancel when you see the sphere. The timing is consistent once learned.

Aemeath Burst + Support
Fusion carry. Burst window cadence matches the
Aero ape's stagger timing on floor 1.
Handles Electro add clear on floor 2 efficiently.
Benefits from Fusion RES shred and Intro Skill steroid.
Alt
Luuk Herssen + Lynae + Mornye / Shorekeeper
Spectro Tune Strain DPS.
Benefits from Spectro RES shred and Intro buff.
Strong single-target for the floor 2 spaceman.
Mid-air stance can be vulnerable to the Aero ape's aggression on floor 1.
Alt
Zani + Phoebe + Shorekeeper
Spectro Frazzle team.
More forgiving to pilot than Luuk while learning spawn timings.
Slower clears, but Spectro RES shred keeps damage competitive.
Center Tower F3-F4: Yangyang Xuanling Havoc Team
Priority
Team
Why
Best
Yangyang Xuanliang + Havoc Heavy Attack team
Intended carry. Havoc avoids
Electro RES.
Tune Break triggers the bonus multiplier.
Wide Heavy Attack hitboxes handle multi-wave Electro mobs on floor 3.
Tune Break resets between waves.
Alt
Cartethyia + Aero team
Aero avoids Electro RES.
Strong single-target for floor 4 bosses.
Lacks Tune synergy and AOE for floor 3 waves.
Slower clears on both floors.
Alt
Phrolova + Roccia + Support
Havoc avoids Electro RES.
Better AOE than
Cartethyia for floor 3.
Lacks Tune Break entirely.
Fights through full enemy RES on floor 4. Last resort.
Universal rule: no Electro carries on any center tower floor this rotation. Bench them until next cycle.
Team RotationsforWuWa Tower of Adversity(V3.5)
Below are the rotation sequences for the primary carries on the center tower floors. Stat targets are for comfortable clears. You can clear with less if your execution is clean.
Yangyang Xuanling Team
Support opens with full buffs. Yangyang Xuanling enters via Intro for initial Havoc stacks. Build Heavy Attack charges through Basics and Skill. Release the full sequence while support buffs are active. Hold Resonance Liberation for Tempest Mephis on floor 3 and Thundering Mephis on floor 4. Never burn it on trash. Cycle length varies by energy. Prioritize buff alignment over speed. A clean 80-percent damage window beats a rushed full rotation.
Aemeath Burst Team
Support buffs first. Aemeath enters via Intro, builds gauge with Skill into Enhanced Skill, then waits. Stagger triggers around 15 seconds. Unload Resonance Liberation with both the Intro steroid and Fusion RES shred active. Clean up with Basic chains while burst recharges. Floor 2 is simpler: burn Electro adds with Skill chain, build gauge on the spaceman, burst when ready.
Cartethyia Team
Ciaccona or Aero Rover opens with Aero Erosion and buffs. Cartethyia enters via Intro: 2 Erosion stacks, Sword of Discord. Basic 2-3-4 generates Sword of Divinity. Resonance Skill generates Sword of Virtue. Plunge Attack recalls all three swords and activates their buffs. First Liberation transforms into Fleurdelys' form. Chain: Skill part 1, Hold Basic for mid-air strike, Skill part 2. Basic 3-4-5 into Heavy into Enhanced Heavy to reach 120 Conviction. Second Liberation finisher, then Outro. Cast Echo before Outro. The Fleurdelys window runs about 15 seconds, fitting inside the 20-second Intro buff.
Conclusion
Each character holds 10 Vigor. Hard floors cost up to 4. A full 30-crest run needs four teams on paper, but gear sharing between supports cuts the real build load. Move your Shorekeeper's Echo set and weapon between clears. One support set serves three towers. Newer accounts can reset a cleared tower to refund Vigor and reuse characters. Crests track per tower individually. You do not need all 30 at once.
This rotation is kinder than the last. Aero, Havoc, Fusion, and Spectro each have a lane. Only Electro is sidelined, and only for this cycle. Next rotation, the buffs swing elsewhere.
One last observation. The gap between a signature weapon and its alternative is real but rarely decides a run. Clean play bridges a bigger gap than any weapon upgrade. This rotation closes in early August. Good luck.
FAQ
When does this WuWa Tower of Adversity end?
Early August 2026. The Hazard Zone cycles roughly every two weeks, so expect the next reset around the first week of August. You have about two weeks from the July 20 start date to clear.
How does the Vigor reset trick work?
Clear a tower completely. Go back to the tower selection screen and manually reset that tower's progress. This refunds all Vigor spent on that tower but also wipes the crests you earned there.
You can then reuse those same characters on a different tower. The game tracks crests per tower individually, so you do not need all 30 crests active at once.
Clear tower A, reset, reuse characters on tower B, and the crests from tower A stay recorded.
What is the single most important thing to get right?
Do not bring
Electro carries
to the center tower floors.
The RES penalty plus Electro-heavy enemies on F3-F4 make them unplayable there.
Hold your burst until the
Aero ape
staggers on F1, and dodge cancel out of
Thundering Mephis's charged AoE
on F4.
Those two mechanical checks end more runs than team composition.
What if I do not have Yangyang Xuanling for center tower F3-F4?
Cartethyia Aero teams and Phrolova Havoc teams both work.
Cartethyia brings better single-target for the floor 4 bosses. Phrolova brings better AOE for the floor 3 waves.
Neither matches Xuanling's clear speed because they lack
Tune Break access,
but both can clear.
Pick whichever carry has more investment on your account.
Can I use Electro carries anywhere in this WuWa Tower of Adversity?
Left and right towers have no Electro penalty, so you can technically use them there.
But the left tower favors
Havoc
and the right favors
Aero,
so an Electro carry gets no buff synergy.
On center tower floors, Electro RES is raised, and the enemy compositions actively punish Electro damage.
