How to play Aria in ZZZ

Aria’s gameplay loop is pretty straightforward: build up Fandom Powers, stun the enemy with your stunner, then butt stomp your enemy!

Aria is an S rank Ether anomaly DPS whose main gimmick is to create Fandom Powers through her fourth Basic Attack, Special Attack, Chain Attack, Ultimate, and Ether Veil. Once she has at least two Fandom Powers on her resource bar, Aria consumes them to unleash downward plunge attacks via Basic Attack: Perfect Pitch or her charged attacks, stacking Ether Anomaly on the target. If the enemy is already afflicted with an anomaly, she will also trigger Abloom.

To maximize her output, these plunge combos should be executed during stun windows, where her damage ratio increases by 50%.

Aria’s Core Skill favors a mono-Ether lineup over Disorder comps, marking a first for Anomaly agents in Zenless Zone Zero. Her Abloom damage spikes significantly when the target is already afflicted with Ether, compared to other attribute setups.

ZZZ Aria skill priority

For Zenless Aria build it’s recommended to invest resources into her kit according to the following priorities.

SkillPriority
Basic Attack★ ★ ★ ★
Dodge★ ★ ★
Assist★ ★ ★
Special Attack★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Chain Attack★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Core Skill★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Like most agents, it’s strongly recommended to max out her Core Skills since they enhance her base stats. Investing in them also boosts her Abloom damage, which makes up a significant portion of her overall DPS. The same goes for her chain attacks, basic attack, and special attacks. Meanwhile, you can upgrade Dodge and Assist at your discretion or if you have extra resources. They’re not exactly necessary, as they do not contribute much to increasing her damage.

Best Aria Drive Discs build

When building Aria, it's important to know that she needs the following stats: Ether damage, Anomaly Proficiency and Anomaly Mastery, so here are the best Drive Disc sets for the best Zenless Zone Zero Aria build.

Zenless Zone Zero Aria best build guide - Best Drive Discs, W-engines, and Teams 4-pc Shining Aria, 2-pc Phaeton's Melody4-pc Shining Aria
2-pc set: Ether DMG +10%
4-pc set: When the equipper's Basic Attack hits an enemy, their Anomaly Proficiency increases by 36, lasting 8s. Repeated triggers reset the duration. When any enemy on the field is Stunned, the equipper's DMG increases by 25% for 18s. Repeated triggers reset the duration.
2-pc Phaeton's Melody
2-pc set: Anomaly Mastery +8%.

As the name and the Drive Disc appearance suggest, it cannot be denied that Shining Aria is her signature and best-in-slot Drive Disc set. Overall, Shining Aria gives 10% Ether Damage, 36 Anomaly Proficiency, and a 25% damage increase. This set is made specifically for an Ether Anomaly agent who wants to have a Stunner on the team, which is exactly the niche that Aria fills. For the 2-piece set, consider Phaeton's Melody, which gives Aria a good Anomaly Mastery stats increase.

Note that this set requires a stunner for better buff uptime.

Zenless best Aria W-engines

Aria in Zenless Zone Zero has a bunch of good W-Engines she can use, whether you’re a whale, light spender, or free-to-play player. As mentioned above, you’ll want to look for W-Engines that amplify her Ether Damage, Anomaly Mastery, and Anomaly Proficiency stats. Angel in the Shell (S rank)

  • Base ATK: 48 - 713
  • Anomaly Mastery: 12% - 30%
Zenless Zone Zero Aria best build guide - Best Drive Discs, W-engines, and Teams
Angel in the Shell (S rank Anomaly)
  • Increases the equipper's Anomaly Proficiency by 90.
  • When the equipper is an Ether character and comes on-field or uses a Special Attack or EX Special Attack, they gain a buff:
  • DMG dealt to enemies afflicted with Attribute Anomalies increases by 20%
  • Attribute Anomaly DMG they trigger increases by 10%, lasting 15s
  • Repeated triggers reset the duration, and the effect is removed when switching off-field.

Angel in the Shell is Aria’s signature weapon, with Anomaly Mastery as its main stat. This W-Engine fits Aria perfectly as long as she remains an on-field DPS. Overall, she gains up to 30% Anomaly Mastery, 90 Anomaly Proficiency, 20% Damage, and an additional 10% Attribute Anomaly Damage. However, the effect is removed once she leaves the field.

Flight of Fancy (S rank Anomaly)

  • Base ATK: 48 - 713
  • Anomaly Proficiency: 36 - 90

Flight of Fancy (S rank Anomaly)
  • Silver Spiked Feathers: Increases Anomaly Buildup Rate by 40%
  • When the equipper deals Ether DMG, their Anomaly Proficiency increases by 20 for 5s, stacking up to 6 times.
  • This effect can trigger once every 0.5s, and repeated triggers reset the duration.

Flight of Fancy is an anomaly w-engine that also functions well with Aria. Flight of Fancy requires an ether unit that likes to have the following stats: anomaly buildup rate and anomaly proficiency.

Electro Lipgloss (A rank)

  • Base ATK: 40 - 594
  • Anomaly Proficiency: 30 - 75
Electro Lipgloss
Electro Lipgloss (A rank)
  • Kiss of Death: When there are enemies inflicted with Attribute Anomaly on the field, the equipper's ATK increases by 10%.
  • Equipper deals an additional 15% more DMG to the target.

Now, for A-rank W-engines, the best option here is the Electro-Lip Gloss. It offers a nice boost to Aria's Anomaly Proficiency, ATK, and damage.

Weeping Gemini (A rank Anomaly)

  • Base ATK: 40 - 594
  • Percent: 10% - 25%

  • This effect expires when the target recovers from Stun or is defeated.
  • The duration of each stack is calculated separately.

Another free-to-play W-engine that's worth mentioning is the Weeping Gemini (R5). It gives percent ATK and at most 192 Anomaly Proficiency.

Rainforest Gourmet (A rank Anomaly)

  • Dinner's Ready! - For every 10 Energy consumed, the equipper gains a buff that increases ATK by 2.5% for 10s, stacking up to 10 times.
  • The duration of each stack is calculated separately.

Finally, you can also pick up Rainforest Gourmet. It's a W-engine that provides anomaly proficiency and a decent amount of ATK.

Aria Mindscape Cinema - Should You Pull?

Listed below are all of Aria's Mindscape Cinema, pull ratings and why you should pull for them.

For the best ZZZ Aria build, we recommend getting her M1, M2 and M6. Aria can function and is viable at C0, but if you really like Aria and the idols that much and if you want a massive boost to your damage, we definitely recommend these mindscapes.

zzz aria best build
01. Energetic Sound Waves
Ratings: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Effect: When Aria's Basic Attack, Special Attack, or EX Special Attack deals DMG to enemies, it ignores 10% of the target's Ether Anomaly Buildup RES. Additionally, when Aria triggers Abloom, it has a chance to trigger a critical hit. The base CRIT Rate is 25%, and CRIT DMG is 25%. If initial Anomaly Mastery exceeds 100, each additional point of initial Anomaly Mastery increases this effect's CRIT Rate by 0.5%.
Reason: Aria’s Mindscape 1 is absolutely worth considering. Once unlocked, it gives her a massive spike in overall damage by letting her ignore 10% of an enemy’s Ether Anomaly Buildup resistance. On top of that, Abloom gains the ability to crit, starting with a base 25% Crit Rate and 25% Crit Damage. Even better, its Crit Rate scales further with Aria’s Anomaly Mastery, pushing her damage ceiling even higher.
02: Fantastical Beat
Ratings: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Effect: When Aria attacks or triggers Abloom, it ignores 16% of the target's DEF. During Moment of Delusion, attacks and Abloom triggers also ignore an additional 8% of the target's DEF.
Reason: Offers a massive upgrade to her kit. This can be a good stopping point, unless you're aiming for M6 Aria. When casting her attacks, trigger abloom, using ultimate, she can ignore up to 24% of enemies' DEF.
03: Delulu
Ratings: ★ ★ ★ ★
Effect: Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2
Reason: A good upgrade to her attacks' damage and daze multipliers.
04: Mechanical Angel
Ratings: ★ ★ ★ ★
Effect: When Aria triggers Abloom, she gains 4 Energy and 70 Decibels. This effect can trigger once every 10s.
Reason: M4 does not necessarily increase her damage. However, it makes building Aria way easier. She gets free energy and decibels by triggering abloom, which means more Fandom Power and charged attacks! This basically improves rotation.
05: Tears in the Rain
Ratings: ★ ★ ★
Effect: Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2
Reason: Additional increase to her attacks' multipliers. Only pull if you have extra resources or aiming for M6.
06: Construct's Dream
Ratings: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Effect: Upon entering the battlefield, Aria immediately gains 1,200 Decibels. In Investigation Zone mode, this effect can trigger once every 180s. After Aria enters Moment of Delusion, she will not exit it, and enhanced Basic Attack: Perfect Pitch and her Ultimate deal 40% increased Ether DMG. While in Moment of Delusion, when an enemy on the field enters an Anomaly state, Aria gains 1 stacks of All-Out Cheering. This effect can occur once every 6s. When gaining the All-Out Cheering effect, if already at 3 stacks of All-Out Cheering, any excess All-Out Cheering is converted into 2 Fandom Power and generated on the field.
Reason: Aria's M6 basically puts her in a permanent enhanced state from her ultimate. This means that she automatically generates fandom powers.

Aria is an Ether Anomaly DPS, and if you managed to get her, you're in luck as her kit meshes well with plenty of agents in Zenless Zone Zero. Ideally, you'll want to pair her with stunners, anomaly agents (ether if possible), and supports for the best ZZZ Aria build.

Zenless Zone Zero Aria team - Aria, Nangong Yu and Sunna

The entire Angels of Delusion squad is a match made in heaven, yup, pun intended. Aria is an anomaly main DPS who deals more serious damage during stun windows, who needs both a stunner and a support in an ideal setup.

Sunna
Sunna

Nangong yu and Sunna happen to perfectly fit the bill. Nangong Yu is an ether stunner who can give teamwide buffs, and even extend stun duration, basically what Aria needs. On the other hand, Sunna is a support whose role is to buff the team, and provide sustain.

Zenless Zone Zero Aria double support team - Aria, Sunna and Yuzuha

While Aria is best played with a stunner in the squad, don't let this stop you from building a double support Aria team.

Due to the lack of a stunner, Aria will take much more time staggering the enemies, but this team can compensate by throwing out multiple buffs and damage amplification. For anomaly teams, a combination of Yuzuha and Sunna will definitely make Aria's damage skyrocket.

ZZZ Aria Qingyi team - Aria, Qingyi and Sunna

For the best ZZZ Aria teams, you can also slot in Qingyi, who's arguably one of the most versatile stunners in the game.

For the final slot, you can either pick Sunna or Yuzuha.

ZZZ Aria Lycaon F2P team - Aria, Lycaon and Nicole

Aria is an anomaly agent whose kit complements other agents in the game well. If you're a beginner or don’t have the premium options above, you can also build a free-to-play–friendly team with A-rank characters and standard banner units.

Nicole

Meet the Aria, Lycaon, and Nicole team. Out of all the F2P-friendly stunners, Lycaon is the best pick. He stuns enemies fairly quickly with his charged attacks, and assuming you’ve unlocked his potential enhancements, Aria can deal extra damage to enemies. Next, slot in Nicole. First, she’s an Ether agent, making it easier for the team to build Corruption and trigger Abloom. She groups up enemies, allowing Aria to hit multiple targets at the same time with ease, and she’s also capable of shredding enemies’ defense. Additionally, she can provide buffs through her Drive Discs if she has either Moonlight Lullaby or Astral Voice equipped.

ZZZ Aria F2P team - Aria, Anby and Nicole

If you don't have Lycaon, feel free to replace her with Anby. Like Nicole, Anby is a free-to-play agent that you can use as a stunner.
