Nangong Yu kit – How to play Nangong Yu

Nangong Yu is an S rank Ether Stunner, and unlike Lycaon, Lighter, Qingyi, and Dialyn, her kit wants you to shy away from attack-based teams. She is different than the rest of the stunners, and for good reason.

Instead of Impact, you’ll want to build Anomaly mastery to turn up her daze output.

To maximize Nangong Yu kit, you would want to use her hold basic attack: Adorable Mine Sky Strike to stun enemies fast. This attack can reach up to third stage, with the second and third consuming 50 downbeat points. Nangong Yu can have up to 100 points, and she accumulates 4 points per second, and another 20 when the enemy enters an anomaly state, essentially the reason why she’s better off with anomaly agents. The faster she regains Downbeat, the higher daze she can apply.

In combat, Nangong Yu will start throwing out buffs and debuffs. She buffs her own daze and anomaly buildup rate, and provides a whopping 30% damage and 50 ATK (from ultimate) increase to all squad members. By activating her additional ability, Nangong Yu also gets to trigger these effects:

  • 20% anomaly buildup rate
  • 40% anomaly buildup rate (chain attack)
  • Polarity disorder

During a stun period, Nangong Yu can apply Polarity disorder twice at most using Dance fever passive. Quick fact: Aria can also trigger this Polarity disorder as long as NY has at least one stack of Dance Fever.

To stun enemies fast, you’ll want to use your charged attacks and EX Specials. After staggering an enemy, this is where the fun part comes.

Nangong Yu can increase the stun multiplier and the duration. Additionally, she gets to apply at most 4 marks. When detonated, Nangong Yu will inflict Abloom damage.

Nangong yu Kit – Nangong Yu’s Signature weapon

Nangong Yu’s signature weapon is called Neon Fantasies and it’s an anomaly mastery w-engine.

Zenless Zone Zero Nangong Yu kit

Base StatBase ATK: 48 ~ 713
Advanced Stat Anomaly Mastery: 12% ~ 30%
How to get  Gacha
W-engine effect Increases the equipper’s Anomaly Proficiency by 90 points. When the equipper deals Ether attribute DMG with [EX Special Attack] or [Basic Attack], the whole squad’s DMG dealt increases by 15% for 40s. Max 2 stacks. Can trigger once per use of a skill. Repeated triggers reset the duration. When at 2 stacks, the equipper’s Anomaly Proficiency is further increased by 60. This effect is unique to the squad.

For a stunner like Nangong Yu, it might look a bit strange for her W-engine to have anomaly mastery as its main stats, rather than Impact. But fret not as it aligns well with Nangong Yu kit.

For Nangong Yu, you can consider this as the best weapon for her as it not only buffs herself, but this w-engine also gives her the ability to provide a team-wide 30% damage increase.

Core Skill of ZZZ Nangong Yu

Nangong Yu’s core skill does a lot of things for her and her team. First, she gets anomaly mastery and anomaly proficiency. She also receives impact by converting excess anomaly mastery. This means that she will deal higher daze with higher anomaly mastery stats.

With this skill, she also gets to make use of a Vibrato mechanic during the enemy’s stun window. When the enemy gets the maximum stacks (5 stacks), or when the enemy recovers from being staggered, it will trigger Abloom and deal damage.

Additionally, Nangong Yu will increase the team’s anomaly buildup rate, daze and damage. She can also either extend the stun multiplier with her core skill.

Anomaly Mastery +36, Base ATK +75

Nangong Yu’s Anomaly Proficiency increases by 100;

When Nangong Yu’s Anomaly Mastery exceeds 100, every point of initial Anomaly Mastery above this threshold increases her Impact by 0.8;

When an enemy is Stunned, they accumulate 1 stack(s) of [Vibrato] each time they enter an Anomaly state, are hit by an [Abloom] attack, or a [Disorder] attack;

The same enemy can accumulate a maximum of 5 stacks of [Vibrato];

When an enemy is affected by an Attribute Anomaly state, if [Vibrato] reaches maximum stacks or when an enemy with [Vibrato] recovers from being Stunned, all [Vibrato] stacks are removed;

When [Vibrato] is removed, Nangong Yu performs an [Abloom] attack against the target: triggering an additional instance of Attribute Anomaly DMG, with a ratio relative to the original Attribute Anomaly DMG of 12%/12%/12%/12%/12%.

For every stack of [Vibrato] on the enemy, this [Abloom] attack’s DMG is additionally increased by 10%. During the same Stun period, if [Vibrato] has already been cleared, the enemy cannot be inflicted with [Vibrato] again;

When Nangong Yu’s [Basic Attack: Adorable Mine Sky Strike] or [EX Special Attack] hits an enemy, her Anomaly Buildup Rate is increased by 30%, Daze Buildup Rate is increased by 15%, and DMG dealt by the whole squad is increased by 30% for 20s. Repeated triggers reset the duration.

When Nangong Yu’s [Basic Attack: Adorable Mine Sky Strike] hits an enemy, the enemy gains the [Stun] effect.

Enemies under this effect have their Stun duration increased by 3s when entering the Stunned state. The [Stun] effect can trigger on the same target a maximum of once before they recover from being Stunned.

The Stun duration increase effect does not stack with similar effects. The [Stun] effect ends when an enemy with the effect recovers from being Stunned;

When any squad member causes an enemy to enter the Stunned state, the enemy’s Stun DMG Multiplier is increased by 30%;

While in-combat, Nangong Yu recovers 4 [Downbeat] per second. When any squad member causes an enemy to enter an Anomaly state, Nangong Yu additionally recovers 20 [Downbeat]. This effect can trigger once every 8s;

Nangong Yu can have a maximum of 100 [Downbeat].

Additional Ability: Nangong Yu

Different from the usual, Nangong Yu is a stunner that you’ll likely see in anomaly teams, such as Aria, Miyabi, Piper, but rarely with attackers. For her additional ability, she needs to be with anomaly agents, or agents from the Angels or Delusion (Aria and Sunna)

Upon activating her additional ability, Nangong Yu gain access to the following:

  • 20% Anomaly buildup rate
  • 40% chain attack anomaly buildup rate
  • Can trigger Polarity Disorder twice per stun window via Dance Fever stacks
  • 30% Stun DMG multiplier
When another character in your squad is an Anomaly character or shares the same Faction:

When any squad member’s attacks hit an enemy in the Stunned state, their Anomaly Buildup Rate increases by 20%. Chain Attacks hitting enemies in the Stunned state gain an additional 40% Anomaly Buildup Rate increase.

When any squad member Dazes an enemy, Nangong Yu gains 2 stacks of Dance Fever, up to 2 stacks, lasting 15s. Repeated triggers reset the duration. While Dance Fever is active, when Nangong Yu’s EX Special Attack, Basic Attack: Adorable Mine Sky Strike, or Quick Assist heavy attack hits an enemy suffering from both Attribute Anomaly and Stunned, she consumes 1 stack of Dance Fever to trigger a special Disorder effect called Polarity Disorder on that enemy, dealing 25% of the original Disorder DMG to the target. Polarity Disorder does not clear the target’s Attribute Anomaly state. If the skill fails to trigger Polarity Disorder, Dance Fever is not consumed.

While Nangong Yu has Dance Fever active, her next switch to on-field will immediately trigger the first Charged Attack of Basic Attack: Adorable Mine Sky Strike. This Charged Attack is considered a Perfect Charge.

When both Nangong Yu and Aria are in the squad, if Aria’s Basic Attack: Perfect Pitch heavy attack hits an enemy suffering from both Attribute Anomaly and Stunned, Nangong Yu will also consume 1 stack of Dance Fever to trigger Polarity Disorder on that enemy.

When the third hit of Nangong Yu’s Basic Attack: Adorable Mine Sky Strike heavy attack hits an enemy, that enemy gains the Stun effect. Enemies with this effect have their Daze duration extended by 3s and their Stun DMG Multiplier increased by 30% when entering the Stunned state. The Stun effect can only trigger once per target before they recover from being Stunned. The Daze duration extension does not stack with similar effects. The Stun effect ends when the enemy recovers from being Stunned.
