ZZZ Pyrois Core Passives
Pyrois’ kit revolves around the Kinetic Energy system. Through the core passive, Pyrois steadily builds up this resource both passively and by landing hits on enemies.
This same passive also adds extra effects to all four Ultimate variants. The upper and lower Ultimates lean more on utility, either boosting sustained damage or helping with energy regeneration, while the left and right Ultimates are more damage-focused, offering stronger team-wide amplification.
Pyrois – Kinetic Energy System
Kinetic Energy is the core resource behind Pyrois’ enhanced states and Ultimate branching effects.
Kinetic Energy System:
• Starts combat with 60 Kinetic Energy
• Gains Kinetic Energy when attacks hit enemies
• Regenerates 0.5 Kinetic Energy per second
Upper Branch – Ultimate 01:
Gain 45 Kinetic Energy and enter Enhance 01.
Enhanced Basic Attacks deal +25% DMG to Dazed enemies for 18s. Duration resets on re-trigger.
Lower Branch – Ultimate 02:
Gain Enhance 02. Energy Generation Rate +15%.
EX Special Attack Perfect Block restores 10 Kinetic Energy.
DMG +45% for 60s. Duration resets on re-trigger.

Right Branch – Ultimate 04:
Heavy attacks on Dazed enemies trigger Totalize, dealing additional DMG equal to 1,800% of ATK.
Daze timer stops recovering and ends upon Finishing Move.
Additional Ability: Additional Ability
Pyrois’ team compositions will likely follow that of traditional DPS agents in the game, built around the usual DPS–Stunner–Support lineup. Assuming the requirements are met, Pyrois gains a substantial 35% Crit Damage boost, along with Decibel refund.
This makes a noticeable difference in overall damage output compared to setups that don’t fully meet those conditions.
Conditional Trigger Effect
Triggers when a [Stun] or [Assist] character is in the squad.
• Pyrois’s Enhanced Basic Attacks, EX Special Attacks,
Chain Attacks, and Ultimates deal
+35% CRIT DMG
• Using a Chain Attack restores
200 Decibels
Is Pyrois strong in Zenless Zone Zero?
Pyrois looks like a genuinely strong DPS unit, easily keeping up with some of the best DPS agents in the game.
Early leaks and showcases already show Pyrois shredding enemy HP with surprisingly solid damage numbers. Even if Pyrois is allegedly a unit that players might get for free, it doesn’t look like that will hold its damage back in any meaningful way. The four Ultimate variations also stand out, giving Pyrois more flexibility in team compositions and opening up different combo paths depending on how the kit is actually finalized.
That said, this is still beta territory, so some level of tuning is expected which can either push the damage higher or pull parts of the kit back. For now, though, Pyrois is looking to be in a pretty strong spot overall, with the potential to release as a top-tier DPS if nothing major changes.
But while Pyrois looks strong, Void Hunters are still in a completely different league when it comes to strength.
