What We Can Expect for FIFA 20 on Nintendo Switch?09/02/2019
FIFA 20 will be available for Nintendo Switch but don't get your hopes up just yet. EA announced that this version will be a legacy edition. FIFA 18 was the first EA FIFA game for the Nintendo Switch console. It didn't have the graphical capabilities of the other versions and when FIFA 19 launched for this console it became clear that there's a big difference regarding gameplay. This difference is officially admitted by branding FIFA 20 for Nintendo Switch a legacy edition. What does this mean?
It means that FIFA 20 on the Nintendo Switch is FIFA 19 with an updated player list and cosmetics. You probably have heard of legacy editions for last generation consoles PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. FIFA 19 was the last EA FIFA game for last generation devices. FIFA 20 for Nintendo Switch will lack all the new features. This means that players won't be able to play the new game mode Volta. This is a shame as Volta promises to bring a new gameplay experience based on street football.
Nintendo Switch FIFA 20 players won't be able to complete season objectives in Ultimate Team as this is also a new feature. Career mode will be the same as last year's and gameplay tweaks such as the penalty and free-kick changes are not coming as well. When asked, EA officials didn't say if they are planning to look into a way to bring the features for this console. They said that they don't know what the future holds. If things follow this path, FIFA 21 will surely be released as a legacy edition for the Nintendo Switch or not at all. It's really sad as there are lots of players who were looking forward to playing the new game on this console.
So, if you are wondering if FIFA 20 on Nintendo Switch is worth it or not, keep in mind that you will be paying for the old game with an updated look. As a small consolation, the price is cheaper than on other devices. What decision will you take?
