We Tested the Copa Libertadores in the Game; See First Impressions03/11/2020
FUT 20 will host the Copa Libertadores on March 3, 2020 in a free DLC for PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One and PC. With the competition, four new Brazilian teams arrive at EA's game: Flamengo, São Paulo and Palmeiras, who play "Liberta", and Vasco da Gama, classified in the South American Cup. Corinthians, which was no longer present in the game and also did not guarantee a direct place in the group stage of the tournament, is the main absence. The teams appear with their official uniforms, but still without real players. Despite this, the kits can be purchased on Ultimate Team, as well as other items licensed with the partnership.
The ambience during the matches is the strength of the novelty, since it is possible to perceive the most truncated style of play and the characteristic crowd of the continent, in addition to the presence of clubs from all over South America. you will be able to see many options for South American stadiums.
Libertadores appears in the game in the same way as the Champions League. There is a dedicated tournament mode, which is also available in career mode. The option to play competition matches as friendlies is also present, and the user can choose between group stage, semi-final or final. According to EA, it will still be possible to choose teams from the competition to play against clubs from around the world, but this was not yet available during our tests.
Another very cool point of the partnership with Conmebol is the presence of the Copa Sudamericana, which brings knockout clashes and can be played both in career mode and as a separate tournament.
The game itself reproduces what Libertadores is all about, and the experience was very positive. Having the main teams represented in the game is another important point, as well as the licensed uniforms available on Ultimate Team. Anyway, more than a good impression, the arrival of the competition at FUT 20 promises visibility for football on the continent and brings hope for an even stronger presence of Brazilian teams in the future.
