The Massively popular MMORPG Albion Online needs no introduction. This game has been here for quite a while and never fails to make a mark on the internet for its popularity. Over time, it has gained a devoted fan base, and that fanbase is growing even stronger with the release of the game’s mobile version. Albion Online contains elements of great adventure, ranging from top-tier gaming modes to thrilling dungeon adventures, but none of them captures the attention of beginners as Expeditions does.

For those curious about the nature of Albion Online Expeditions, you’ve come to the right spot. This article aims to cover all the essential details regarding Expeditions in Albion Online. Let’s dive into it.

Expeditions in Albion Online

Expeditions resemble dungeons in which you’re assigned a specific task within a limited time frame. If you’ve played the Albion Online game, you may have noticed blue portals on the map denoting Expeditions accessible through NPCs. This PvE content is scattered across various cities in the game.

For newcomers delving into the game, Expeditions offers an excellent opportunity to explore its features and become familiar with the mechanics. We recommend it for beginners because it allows them to refine combat skills and navigate through dungeons. Even in the event of defeat, you’ll respawn at the latest checkpoint, eliminating the need to start from scratch. Deciding between Solo and Group Expeditions might be daunting for a novice. No need to worry; we’ll now delve into these types of Expeditions in Albion Online, helping you determine which one suits you best.

Types of Expeditions in Albion Online

Expeditions are relatively shorter versions of the Albion Online dungeons and offer great adventure. Players often use Expeditions to hone their skills and earn rewards. In Albion Online, there are two types of Expeditions – Solo and Group.

As the name suggests, Albion Online solo expeditions are those that you take on and complete on your own. In group expeditions, you are assigned a role, and you carry out that role throughout the expedition and complete it in a group. There is a difference in the amount of time you are given to complete the tasks in Solo and Group Expeditions. In Solo Expedition, you have 60 minutes to complete a task, while in Group Expedition, you have 120 minutes. Obviously, the tasks would be different for both of these expeditions.

There is not much to discuss about solo expeditions in which you are on your own and should carry essential items and resources needed for the expedition. But in Albion Online group expeditions, the story is a bit different. Let’s discuss Group Expeditions in detail.

Group Expedition

To join a group expedition, locate the Albion Online Expedition Master NPC in a nearby city. Your role will be automatically assigned based on your equipment:

Defensive Role:

With this role, you are assigned the tasks of a Tank. You have to ensure that you have the attention of bosses and mobs in the expedition.

Requirements for this role: Equip yourself with plate armor and a tank role weapon.

Supportive Role:

As the name suggests, you will be tasked with supporting and healing your allies and making sure each group member survives.

Requirements for this role: Use healing staff as a primary weapon, and it’s advisable to use cloth armor.

Offensive Role:

You are assigned to take care of bosses of mobs in this role. Deal damage and kill opponents is all you need to do. There is no such requirement for this role as most of the weapons come under this role.

Once you’ve chosen the size of the group size and difficulty level of the tier, you’ll be transported to the expedition location with a designated mission. Your assigned role is fixed throughout the expedition and visible to other players. Completing the mission will open a portal returning you to your starting city. Failure results in teleportation back to the city. Leaving an expedition early incurs a penalty timer before starting another one.

Note: There is a hardcore version of the normal expedition known as Hardcore Expedition.
