While the main goal for anybody, including those that buy Clash of Clans account from us, is the endgame, you’ve got to get through the first few days of the game first. Your base will still be small at this point, and you can’t be attacked. You’re just learning how COC works.
The first 3-4 days of Clans of Clans may be boring, but they’ll let you get your base set up hassle-free. We’ll tell you what needs to be done to have the best base possible in those days. These will be key strategies for your later game life.
The Tutorial
The tutorial is the first thing you’ll need to go through in Clash of Clans. You’ll learn the basics of the game. This includes defense, construction, and upgrades. Along the way, you’ll get some useful items, including gems and resources.
The tutorial takes just a few minutes to complete, but will give you knowledge that you’ll need for the rest of the game. You can expand your knowledge by playing the single player campaign too (more on that soon).
Upgrade Resource Collection
Once you’ve got through the tutorial, you have three goals:
- Upgrade your resource collection (these will be the gold mines and the elixir collectors)
- Upgrade everything related to resources
- Upgrade your town hall
You can’t be attacked for the first 3 days in Clash of Clans, so don’t worry about upgrading your defenses until you’re around 48 hours in. You have a 3-day shield. So, as long as you don’t search for a multiplayer game, you’re safe to upgrade the resource collections first.
At the same time, build as many gold mines and elixir collectors as you can. Do not waste resources on second storage units, though. They’ll come much later when your resource stockpile is packed to the brim.
This will be pretty much be your life for the first 48 hours of the game. Just upgrading the storage, collectors, etc. You can play about with some of the settings in Clash of Clans, but there’s not much you can do, since you don’t want to be attacked.
48 Hour Mark
Once you have hit the 48 hour mark in Clash of Clans, it is time to start focusing your defenses. This is because you are pretty close to being attacked for the first time. This should be your priority:
- Mortar
- Archer Tower
- Cannons
You can also set a few traps around the place, but your main focus will be those buildings. You want to get them all to level 2. This should be fine for the early attacks that you’ll be dealing with in the game.
While You’re Waiting
Since there won’t be much to do in the early part of the game, other than upgrading, we suggest that you dive into the single player campaign of Clash of Clans. It is pretty basic stuff, but it will introduce you to some core components of the game (slowly), and you’ll be getting a decent amount of income from it.
Things You Should Avoid Doing
At absolutely no point should you be spending gems in the early part of the game. Not even during the tutorial. When it asks you to upgrade things using gems in the tutorial, just wait it out.
You’ll need those gems for later on when things take a lot more time. There’s no need to spend cash to save a few minutes of your time.
Do not upgrade your town hall until everything else is upgraded first. Upgrade the town hall too early, and your opponents will be far stronger than your defenses.
Your First Attack
At 72 hours in, you’ll likely get raided. This will be one of many raids you’ll now be getting. The goal of your enemy will be to attack your collectors and storage, and if they get to them, they’ll steal some resources. So, make sure they are well-protected.
Everything else in your base that is destroyed will be automatically rebuilt after the invasion. You won’t have to spend resources to do so.
If any of the traps that you have been tripped, you’ll need to re-arm them.
As your base gets attacked, try to look at the points that seemed to be the weakest. Work on your defenses for later on.
