How To Use Techniques From Avatar The Last Airbender Fortnite?

The Netflix TV Show – Avatar: The Last Airbender didn’t quite grab the audience as it intended. This was due to a lot of different reasons, but the main ones being that the show just wasn’t adhering to the source material enough. Characters were changed for no reason apart from “We want to make it more serious” and “We think that characters like Sokka were too sexist”, when in fact a huge part of the show were elements like these. Aang was a kid who loved to play around, Sokka WAS a sexist at first – but he was proven wrong by Suki and his sister, and learned to change his way of thinking – thus growing as a character.

There are many more examples of how the show fumbled… but, if FORTNITE does anything right, it’s their collaborations with well-known and popular IPs. Fortnite puts massive respect on the IPs that come to their Battle Royale mode, either as skins or in other flavors, and they definitely didn’t drop the ball with Fortnite Avatar. So, what is there to do in “Avatar The Last Bender Fortnite Edition”? Well, if you get lucky with loot, you get to become the titular character himself – You can wield all four of the elements together, and boy were they done well. This new Fortnite update adds amazing Fortnite Avatar items to the game!

And hey, if you miss these characters – you can always buy Fortnite accounts with them, their skins, and additional items.

Skins Added With the Fortnite Avatar: The Last Airbender Collab

The Fortnite Avatar news for Fortnite update 4.12 had the community in a riot – but a positive one. Everyone was happy with what we were getting with this new April Fortnite update.

These new characters were added after the “Korra” update, and along with them – new elements were added. But let’s talk a bit more about the skins themselves.

Is anyone else happy that they actually added somewhat older versions of the main cast? They didn’t use the kid models, and they had good gameplay reasons to do so – each model has to be of a similar size to already existing skins and models, lest someone gains an advantage. For example, imagine if they added Toph as she was in the original Fortnite Avatar: The Last Airbender Show. The little runt with a toxic tongue is green and blends well into the environment while also being less than half the size of regular models. She’d be able to sneak up on you and shoot you in the face with her shotgun, or one of the Bending techniques added.

The same goes for Aang in Fortnite. It’s nice to see an “Older” version of him, but not so old to be like he is shown in Korra.

And, obviously – The Fortnite Avatar is “nothing” without their Avatar state. Well, Aang is still pretty powerful even without it and it IS risky to use. Namely, in the lore “If you get killed while you’re in the Fortnite Avatar state, you’ll end the cycle” – and thus, no more Avatar. However, FORTNITE made sure to – again – respect the source material and add an incredible Fortnite Avatar State Aang with this “Elements” update.

To get him, you need to get the Elements pass to a really high level – but luckily buying cheap Vbucks can get you there quite easily.

Other Avatar Games

Sadly, there have only ever been a few games based on the Avatar TV Shows/Comics/Books, and none of them were very good. So, once again – it fell to Epic Games and FORTNITE to show these characters and IPs some love.

It really is a shame because Fortnite Avatar had some of the best choreography in its fight scenes, ever. Not many shows or games can come close to the incredible fight scenes and moves in Avatar: The Last Airbender and even for The Legend of Korra, but we’re glad that we can finally see these “Bending” moves come to fruition in this FORTNITE x Avatar collab.

As someone so eloquently put it “It’s a tragedy that Fortnite is now technically the best Avatar game”.

What can you “Bend”?

There are 4 main elements added as “Technique Scrolls” in the game. These are obviously “Fire, Earth, Water, Air.” All of these elements do evolve into new techniques – such as Earth’s Metal and Lava bending, Fire’s Lightning bending, and Water’s Blood Bending. However, these weren’t added in this update and FORTNITE might be saving them for a future collab instead.

Still, the 4 Scrolls that we do get are pretty amazing, each with their own small moves and combo moves.

Fire Bending

For fire Bending, we get some sick fire arcs to toss out as projectiles, as well as a huge AOE, slam down while your character is in the air, deal a lot of damage, and knockback to enemies who are unlucky enough to find themselves in the radius.

Water Bending

Water bending, as is in the show – has healing properties. Namely, as long as you have the Mythic Scroll for Water Bending in your inventory, your health will steadily regenerate.

Not only that, but you can also hurl fast water projectiles at your enemies.

Earth Bending

Earth bending gets some amazing moves – drawing massive boulders/blocks from the ground hurling them at enemies and creating a barrier that can block all sorts of incoming fire. This can be really effective and helpful especially if you’re playing the no-build mode of the Battle Royale.

Air Bending

And finally, we have the coolest technique – Air Bending. With it, pun intended, you can create a fast-moving vehicle out of thin air. It’s one of Aangs moves where he creates a “wheel” of air that surrounds him and allows him to move at a fast pace by rotating it quickly like a wheel. You can accelerate and turn quite easily while in this “mode”, and you can exit it by jumping pretty high.

Air bending also gets a very high jump move that can be used to confuse enemies… or to propel yourself high to slam down on them with fire bending.

Conclusion

This new Avatar Fortnite update is a banger, and the Avatar elements added to the game are so much fun to use that we feel like this is the best these “characters” and “Avatar” have ever been represented outside of their own show. You can get all of these items and more through the best Fortnite shop if you want, along with boosts, cheap Vbucks, accounts, and a lot more.
