League of Legends Patch Notes 14.5 Early Preview

League of Legends players are eagerly waiting for the next batch of patches to the game with some new nerfs, buffs, and debuffs to champions and items. Patch 14.5 is no different, as it’s filled with champion and item changes that’ll totally change the landscape of the popular MOBA.

Even though Patch 14.5 of LoL isn’t out yet, we do have a preview of the latest upcoming changes. Most of the changes are set in stone for the duration of the new patch, but there may be a few more additional changes once the patch goes live.

Take this as a ‘preview’ rather than the official patch drop as things could change.

That said, let’s take a look at the upcoming League of Legends patch notes 14.5 and all the changes it has in store!

When is LoL Patch 14.5 Live?

If all goes according to schedule, we can expect the League of Legends Patch 14.5 to go live on March 6th, 2024. League of Legends typically releases regular patches every two weeks or so.

Proc Damage Changes

In a tweet, RiotPhroxon, Lead Gameplay Designer for League of Legends mentioned that more “players disliked items being a delivery system for proc damage, than those who liked it” alluding to changes to how proc damage on items works.

In particular, he mentions that ‘push item proc damage’ values will now not exceed ~200. This change signals the game adapting to slightly less reliance on items, moving in favor of the champion’s skills and abilities.

For now, it seems proc damage items will be taking a hit but RiotPhroxon states that it is “going to set us up better for the long term”.

Bel’Veth

  • (E) Royal Maelstrom skill damage reduction reduced

Brand

  • (R) Pyroclasm skill damage damage reduced from 100-300 +25% AP ⇒ 100-250 + 25% AP
  • (R) Pyroclasm skill cooldown increased from 105/90/75s ⇒ 110/100/90s

Evelyn

  • (Q) Hate Spike skill AP ratio decreased from 30% ⇒ 25% & Max AP Ratio reduced from 1.95 to 1.75

Maokai

  • Base Movement Speed stat decreased from 335 to 330
  • (Q) Bramble Smash skill monster damage increased
  • (W) Twisted Advance skill cooldown increased by 1 second

Nidalee

  • Base Movement Speed stat decreased from 340 to 335
  • (Q) Takedown skill (Cougar form) hunted damage decreased from 40% to 30%

Senna

  • (Q) Piercing Darkness skill damage AD ratio decreased from 50% to 40%

Twisted Fate

  • (E) Stacked Deck skill attack speed decreased
  • (E) Stacked Deck skill AD ratio decreased from 75% to 25%

Vayne

  • Base Movement Speed stat decreased from 45 ⇒ 30
  • (Q) Tumble skill cooldown increased

Zac

  • Cell Division Passive skill max HP regen scaling decreased by 1%
  • (W) Unstable Matter skill base damage increased

Buffs

Jarvan IV

  • Armor Growth Base Stat increased from 4.8 to 5.2
  • (Q) Dragon Strike skill cooldown decreased

Kayn (Rhaast)

  • The Darkin Scythe Passive skill healing increased from 25% to 25% + 0.5% Bonus HP
  • (R) Umbral Trespass skill healing increased from 65% to 75%

Kog’Maw

  • Icathian Surprise Passive skill movement speed increased from 0-40% to 10-50%
  • (Q) Caustic Spittle skill cast time changed from 0.25s to now based on AA timer
  • (E) Void Ooze skill slow increased by 10%
  • (R) Living Artillery skill minimum Attack Damage ratio increased from 65% to 75%

Rek’Sai

  • Auto attack animation and speed improved
  • (Q) auto attacks cannot be canceled & additional bug fixes
  • (E) Furious Bite skill 100 Fury Damage & Monster Cap increased
  • (R) Void Rush skill base damage & additional Missing HP damage multiplier increased

Sivir

  • Base Armor Stats increased from 26 to 30

Veigar

  • (Q) Baleful Strike skill AP damage multiplier increased by 5%
  • (R) Primordial Burst skill cooldown decreased

Vex

  • Doom n’ Gloom Passive skill Gloom Damage multiplier increased
  • (E) Looming Darkness skill now refunds Doom n’ Gloom when killing units

Wukong

  • Stone Skin Passive skill max stacks reduced from 10 to 5
  • Stone Skin Passive skill efficacy per stack increased from 50% to 100%
  • Stone Skin Passive skill stacks now reduce by one instead of all at once

Reworks

Seraphine (Complete Rework)

  • Base Mana Growth decreased/Mana Regen Growth increased/Base Attack Damage decreased/Base Movement Speed increased
  • Stage Presence Passive skill damage changed to 4-25 +4% AP & damage to minions decreased
  • (Q) High Note skill base damage, Missile Speed, and Execute multiplier increased
  • (Q) High Note skill cooldown and mana cost reworked
  • (W) Surround Sound skill base shield increased from 50-150 to 60-160/Mana Cost reduced
  • (W) Surround Sound skill cooldown reworked & movement speed AP multiplier decreased
  • (E) Beat Drop skill base damage reworked & base damage multiplier increased & mana cost now set to 60
  • (E) Beat Drop skill cooldown & crowd control duration reworked & minion damage multiplier decreased
  • (R) Encore cooldown reworked and Attack Power scaling decreased from 60% to 40%

Smolder

  • (Q3) Super Scorcher Breath skill burn damage changed from 6.5% max target health to (2% Bonus AD + 1.5% AP + 1% Dragon Practice Stacks)% Max Target Health
  • (E) Flap, Flap, Flap skill number of attacks reworked from 5 + 5% Crit Strike Chance to 5 + 2% Dragon Practice stacks
  • (R) MMOOOMMMM! skill base damage decreased/Sweet Spot multiplier increased from 130% to 150%/heal changed from 110-210 + 75% AP to 100-170 + 50% Bonus AD + 75% AP

Yorick

  • (E) Mourning Mist skill Ghoul Bonus Damage multiplier decreased from 30% x8 to 20% x8
  • (R) Eulogy of the Isles skill Maiden Armor & Magic Resist increased from 10/30/50 to 30/60/90
  • (R) Eulogy of the Isles skill summoned Maiden no longer takes -50% AoE damage

System Item Adjustments, Buffs & Nerfs

Item Buffs

  • Dream Maker – Shield & Damage increased
  • Heartsteal – Colossal Consumption Damage changed from 100 + 10% item HP to 80 + 12% item HP
  • Hextech Rocketbelt – Price increased from 2500 to 2600 & AP increased from 60 to 70
  • Stormsurge – Movement Speed stat increased from 5% to 8%
  • Celestial Opposition – Cooldown decreased from 20 to 18 & applied slow increased from 50% for 1.5s to 60% for 2s
  • Sunfire Aegis – Base health stat increased from 450 to 500 & Immolate Damage increased from 12 to 15

Item Nerfs

  • Frozen Heart – Price increased from 2400 to 2500 and Armor stat decreased from 70 to 65
  • Lich Bane – Spellblade AP Ratio decreased from 50% to 45%
  • Solstice Sleigh – Cooldown increased from 20s to 30s/Health stat changed from 7% Map HP to 50-230 (based on level)/Decaying Movement Speed reduced from 30% to 25%
