5.56mm Assault Rifles

If you’re looking for the most dominant weapons in the game, the 5.56mm assault rifle is your best bet. Ever since launch 5.56mm assault rifles have been the most consistent performers, especially for mid-range encounters.

While it is possible to use them in long-range situations, in version 3.0, there’s a better option in long-range firefights. Here are the top 5.56mm assault rifles in the game right now –

SCAR-L

The first weapon to top the list is the SCAR-L, one of the most reliable assault rifles in the category. What makes the SCAR-L such a great weapon is its base recoil control and fairly consistent bullet spread.

This makes it much easier to land shots, even if you haven’t kitted out the gun with attachments. It was a close competition between the SCAR-L and the trusty M416 but the SCAR-L, while not as stable as a fully kitted-out M416, has a much lower barrier to entry.

Overall, a remarkable and trustworthy rifle for most encounters.

M416

The M416 assault rifle is still one of the best in the category, specifically for its wide variety of attachment support and incredibly stable recoil control. Especially once you’ve got a bunch of attachments, the gun’s stability is top-tier.

However, to truly make it shine, you’ll need to have some crazy luck with attachments, and since not every match guarantees you get the attachments you need, the SCAR-L retains the top spot.

The RNG for attachments is a bit too unpredictable to ensure consistent performance every match.

Bolt-Action Sniper Rifles

PUBG Mobile Version 3.0 brought some buffs to the bolt-action sniper rifle weapon category which has improved its viability in the game. While it’s still a long shot from being the majority of players’ favorites, the buffs it’s received make it more reliable than in previous versions of PUBG Mobile.

The buff improved armor penetration leading to a faster time to kill, and also allowed bullets to penetrate through a player and hit another player within the shot’s trajectory.

M24

Among the available sniper rifles, we think the M24 is the more reliable option. There are only 5 options for bolt-action snipers in the game and two of them are airdrop-only weapons.

Of the other three available snipers, the M24 has the highest raw power, range, and recoil control at the cost of reload speed and fire rate. In most cases, you’d pair an M24 with a submachine gun or assault rifle for close-mid-range encounters so the slower rate of fire and reload speed aren’t a big deal.

The M24’s long range, high damage, and excellent recoil control make it the top sniper, especially with the new buffs.

7.62mm Assault Rifles

While 5.56mm assault rifles prioritize recoil control and stability, 7.62mm assault rifles have incredible raw stopping power. If you prioritize power over stability, this is the right option for you.

Honey Badger

The Honey Badger is one of the best 7.62mm assault rifles in the game for excellent high damage and relatively low recoil for a gun in this category. It works well even without any attachments so it’s an overall dependable weapon.

However, the problem is the Honey Badger is only limited to the Livik and Erangel maps.

AKM

If you can’t get your hands on a Honey Badger, the AKM is the next best weapon in the category. The AKM specializes in close-mid-range encounters with extremely high damage, one of the highest in the entire assault rifle weapon class.

But this comes at a heavy cost with an unpredictable spread pattern and high recoil. Plus, the AKM doesn’t allow that many attachments which makes it less versatile than other assault rifles.

Submachine Guns

Vector

The Vector submachine gun is a top choice to handle close-quarters combat and has been a staple for PUBG Mobile players for a while now. Its incredibly fast rate of fire paired with a consistent and concentrated bullet spread makes it easy to mow down enemy combatants.

But you’re not going to use this for even mid-range encounters as damage falls off quite heavily at longer ranges. Plus with a high rate of fire, you’re burning through rounds fast so you need to get an extended mag to keep it viable.

And that’s some of the best weapons in PUBG Mobile Version 3.0 and while there are some changes to the meta, it’s remained essentially the same with the prominence of 5.56mm assault rifles dominating.
