Best Overwatch 2 Team Comp

Blizzard’s popular hero-shooter has something for every playstyle, but the real beauty is in how well all those elements gel together. Even if there are only three basic archetypes in Overwatch 2, no character is one-note, and some of the active skills hide a bevy of use cases, especially if combined with the right teammate.

Discovering which Overwatch 2 heroes are “fated” for each other is part of the allure, but the devs make sure no tactic grabs the spotlight for too long. Plus, there’s the fashion side of things, which is an excellent distraction for owners of fully loaded Overwatch accounts for sale.

So, if you feel like you and your buddies are missing something in Overwatch 2, here are the best team comps you should try soon!

Bastion / Sojourn / Sigma / Baptiste / Ana

One of the biggest changes Overwatch 2 immediately brought to the table was the reduction to 5v5 matches instead of 6v6. While some thought the lower player count would only slow down the pace of the game, Overwatch 2’s design quickly outgrew those worries.

The popular team composition of Bastion, Sojourn, Sigma, Baptiste, and Ana is one of the strongest examples of how impenetrable a 5-player team can get. Sigma is a key inclusion here, offering reliable protection for the less-mobile heroes via Experimental Barrier. Meanwhile, the lethal duo of Sojourn and Bastion ensures the team has answers for both ground-level and elevated threats.

While Bastion is a slow-moving target in general, it dishes out tons of damage in a split second, and its turret form ups the ante further still. However, Bastion becomes a stationary unit in that form and would’ve been easy picking for the opposing team if Sigma wasn’t there to provide cover.

Baptiste and Ana make the most potent support framework to compensate for the other heroes’ shortcomings and amplify their strongest sides. Nano-boost is an excellent ace-in-the-hole that can turn the tide of a battle right away, while Baptiste’s ultimate provides that 10-second window of respite for the entire team.

Bastion / Ana / Cassidy / Mercy / Reinhardt

Players who enjoy meeting the opposing team head-on for an all-out brawl should consider picking this formation of heroes. While the bulk of the DPS potential will come from Bastion, the windows of opportunities will get shorter and shorter without proper support. Mercy, the game’s most reliable healer, does a lot of the heavy lifting there, as positioning her close to Bastion equals high danger for the team who didn’t neutralize at least one of those heroes on time.

Reinhardt’s Barrier Field can be deployed at an opportune moment to give others enough time to shine, holding the line in every sense of the word. Even if (most of the) rest of the team has to remain practically in place for this to be effective, those skills can come together to form something great indeed.

Cassidy’s hands should remain untied at that point. Given how Bastion and Reinhardt will draw agro from the other team, Cassidy’s high mobility and short bursts of damage should prove enough to re-divert their attention, exposing more cracks in their strategy. Lastly, Ana can put her bag of tricks to work and keep any ally alive from afar, while putting enemies to sleep if they get too close.

Genji / Brigitte / Junker Queen / Sojourn / Lucio

Junker Queen champions the daredevil playstyle in Overwatch2, and this team comp is all about letting her shine. Her anti-heal skills will upset most enemy teams and force them to retreat, and she’s a formidable fighter in close quarters to boot. On top of that, her Commanding Shout grants overshield and increases allies’ movement speed, making it an excellent getaway card when the need arises.

Genji, Lucio, and Sojourn are all fast-moving characters who love to defy gravity while being a constant nuisance for the other team. The DPS specialists that are Genji and Sojourn have a lot of space to steal kills in this team comp, courtesy of the support portion of Junker Queen’s kit. At the same time, Lucio can continue jumping between walls and playing those tunes to keep himself alive and disrupt any enemy’s movement trajectory.

Completing this well-rounded team is Brigitte, another hero combining offense and defense in calculated ways. Her Rally and Barrier Shield abilities can lend quite a helping hand to an ally in need, and her Inspire skill infuses her team with a temporary life-steal mechanic.

That way, this team comp has an answer for any battlefield situation, easily earning a spot in the meta going into 2024. While all five of these heroes excel at a single niche, their interplay pushes that effectiveness to new heights. If played correctly, this team can produce one favorable position after the other, as each of the team members gets to score as much as the rest like clockwork.
