It’s about 2 weeks until the latest season of Apex Legends hits, but people are already discussing exactly what we can expect from Season 20. There’s a great deal of speculation, rumor, and data mines out there. We’re going to cover it all. So, if you consider yourself an Apex Legend, then read on. New Map Incoming
We know that there is a new map incoming at some point. It is around this time that Apex Legends is scheduled to release a new map (they plan to include one every five seasons), and we already know what the map is likely to be called – District.
Now, we don’t know what the District entails. It is a name that was datamined a while back. However, as the name suggests, it is probably going to include a lot of urban fighting.
This name has been datamined since Summer 2023, so it is almost certainly coming in Season 20.
Updates to Lifeline
OK. This one is nothing more than a rumor at this point, but a rather solid rumor.
We are about due to get an update to some of the legends that you find in the game, and one legend that is due a rework is Lifeline. She’s had a few updates over the years, but nothing quite like the other legend reworks.
Chances are that they’ll give Lifeline a few new abilities and, hopefully, they can balance them a bit better than they did before. If it all goes well, then chances are that we’ll see Lifeline get a lot more play in the game.
New Weapons?
We don’t think there’ll be any new weapons coming in Season 20 of Apex Legends. While there have been rumors that a few new guns are on their way, they are nothing but rumors at this point. We’ve not long had some new weapons added to the game, and the team behind Apex Legends is already struggling to balance those, and throwing some new weapons into the mix probably would be a step too far.
Still, we’re seeing some datamined sources that indicate new weapons may be coming in the not-too-distant future. Word on the street seems to indicate that we’ll be getting a crossbow, some LMGs, and an SMG. Although, a lot would need to change with Apex Legends before we got to that point.
Goodbye Armor
It looks like armor will be completely removed from the game as ground loot. You won’t pick it up as loot. There may be some light changes to shields to make up for the loss of armor, but we aren’t quite sure what will happen on that front yet. It is likely to come in the form of perks that get upgraded as time goes on, so you get a nice boost to your armor, even if you are not specifically picking it up as ground loot. Again, we’ll need to see what happens on that front.
When is Apex Legends Season 20 Launching?
At the moment, there doesn’t seem to be a firm date on when Apex Legends Season 20 is launching. However, all indications are that the update will appear sometime in the middle of February, so you can start collecting your cosmetics from that point.
