New World Complete Combat Guide

A New Way of Playing RPGs

Unlike the typical RPG (Role-Playing Game) that settles your character into a single archetype through the Class system. Indeed, in New World, you’ll find a unique approach. Above all, the Weapons equipped with your character tend to mold the role in a party. For example, if you have a Bow in your primary slot, you have more ways to deal Ranged damage.

Moreover, if you want to start with all the possible roles from the beginning, you could grab a New World Coins offer and improve your in-game currencies. With enough coins in your pocket, you can use the Auction House (Trading Post) to buy all the Weapons.

Even though you have all the freedom to equip any type of Weapons in your character, we recommend that you plan your build. The key is to check what attributes enhance the capabilities in a single option and set a proper archetype. For example, you can become a powerful Tank if you grab two weapons that improve with your Strength attribute.

This article has all the information about the New World Combat System and ways to improve your gameplay.

New World Complete Combat Guide

Let us begin the Combat Guide with comparisons with other popular video games. Indeed, New World tends to lock itself in the MMO genre, and it tends to have similarities with World of Warcraft. First, you gain levels as you move around the map killing monsters and completing quests. Secondly, you see different adversaries with unique gimmicks and their toughness (through levels).

Furthermore, New World differs from WoW with the Combat and Class Systems. Instead of the old “waiting for your turn” thing, you feel like moving through an action game (like Dark Souls) as you throw hits and dodge upcoming attacks. As previously stated, the Weapons mold your role in a party instead of sticking to a single archetype.

As a result, you can “transform” a single character into a different role as you equip different Weapons and reset your attribute points. For example, you can start focussing your points on intelligence and use a Void Gauntlet as a Weapon. Afterward, you could change the focus on Dexterity (by resetting your stats) and pick a Bow.

Focus Your Build

As we already discussed, the elements in your inventory shape your role in a party when you’re playing New World. Hence you can change your gameplay as you change a few things on the fly. Above all, you can start with an overpowered setting thanks to the New World Accounts for Sale, which you can check on the U7BUY website.

While playing New World, you can opt between these well-known archetypes:

Warrior (Melee DPS): DPS stands for Damage-Per-Second. In other words, with two close-range weapons at your disposal, you can deal devastating attacks to your foes. Due to the “souls-like” approach, you need to “dance” in a fight by knowing when to throw a few strikes and dodge upcoming attacks. This archetype lacks supporting abilities but compensates with “crowd control” spells. The character turns into a Melee DPS with a Warhammer, Blunderbuss, Great Axe, or Hatchet.

Wizard (Magical DPS): Shape the outcome of the battlefield as you manipulate different elements with your magical weapons. Become a pure DPS with a Fire Staff or freeze the enemies in a place with an Ice Gauntlet. Remember to keep your distance from your foes and use the crowd control spells to your advantage. You can follow the arts of magic with the Ice Gauntlet, Void Gauntlet, Blunderbuss (if mana is an issue), and the Fire Staff

Rogue (Ranged DPS): Learn the ways of the “critical” warrior with different tools with outstanding potential. Being a Rogue gives you two simple strategies. First, use the distance from your Bow (or Musket) to deal as much damage as possible to any threats. Secondly, you can use close-range weapons (such as the Spear or Rapier) to stun your opponents and move away from danger. Above all, you might concentrate on a single approach and use both long-range and close-range in your character.

Healer (Support): While playing with friends, you can leave the action to the DPSs and focus on healing their wounds. Use the Healing Staff to support your party with buffs and save them from troublesome situations. In New World, you can find supporting Items such as the Healing Staff, Flails and Shield, and Void Gauntlet.

Tank (Protector): “Provoke” your opponents and let them focus all their attention on you. Thanks to the strongest armor and superior weapons from the Tank archetype, you can withstand ridiculous damage in a single fight. In New World, you could equip mighty weapons such as Sword and Shield, Flails and Shield, Warhammer, Blunderbuss, or Great Axe.
