I made a list of the 5 best TV series on Netflix in 2024. Keep in mind that these are both a combination of the most-watched and my personal preference, and there is definitely going to be a bias. You will understand when you see my number 1 recommendation, so keep reading!

The Signal
Let me start off the list with a mini-series with just 4 episodes called The Signal. This is a very small series but very engaging, perfect for people looking for a quick watch on the weekend.
Astronaut Paula suddenly goes missing in space for unknown reasons. Her husband, Sven, sets out to investigate the missing case and finds out so much interesting and mysterious stuff about her disappearance. He does all of it while taking care of their daughter and making sure she doesn’t know about all this.
What exactly happened to Paula? And what are all these mysterious things that Sven finds out? Watch the series to find out.
What do you guys think about the mini-series? I personally like them, as there are not many characters and it becomes easy to follow.
This is a German series originally and stars Florian David Fitz and Peri Baumeister as the main characters.
The Gentlemen
The Gentlemen is a crime comedy and action series. It has a total of 8 episodes.
The main story is as follows, we will be following the protagonist Eddie’s life story. Eddie inherits a huge empire of 15,000 acres and the title of Duke of Halstead, but he isn’t aware of the family’s involvement in the drug business.
There is a syndicate running this business and Eddie tries to get control over this, but there are much bigger shots involved in this.
What do you think Eddie will do now? Will he become one of the bad guys? Or will he make his own rules? Will he even succeed in getting control over the business is the main plot.
The makers have managed to maintain a great balance between crime, comedy and action in this series, it’s been so long since we’ve watched a series like this.

Ripley
Netflix is currently streaming the limited-series psychological thriller Ripley. By “limited series,” I mean that there won’t be a need to wait for the following season because the plot will be resolved by the end of this one. There are eight episodes in all.
The story, which takes place in the 1960s, centres on the con artist Tom Ripley, who has a very bad existence. When a wealthy man pays Ripley to help him bring his prodigal son back from Italy, his life completely changes.
Once Ripley goes to Italy and meets the person, he starts making plans of his own. Ripley does some devious things to change his life and get out of misery.
The main character “Tom Ripley” is played by Andrew Scott who is famous for playing the role of Professor Moriarity in the “Sherlock” series.
3 Body Problem
The series presents three different timelines: a fictional past, a present and a future. The story starts somewhere in China during the 1960s when the country was going through a revolution. And during this period, the people somehow get in touch with an alien civilization.
How is this going to affect the future? What does that alien civilization represent? You have to watch this series to get an answer to these questions.
You already know how great the cinematography of this series is going to be when you know it’s coming straight from the makers of one of the greatest shows in history, “Game of Thrones.”
Benedict Wong, who played one of my favourite Marvel characters, Wong from the Doctor Strange and Avengers movies; John Bradley and Liam Cunningham from GOT, who played Samwell Tarly and Davos Seaworth, respectively, all play major roles in this series.
Avatar: The Last Airbender(Live Action)
I’m aware that this will not sit well with everyone, but bear with me! The majority of live-action films and television shows are mediocre at best and the original viewers of anime and cartoon shows are never fond of these live-action productions.
But when it comes to Avatar, I think they’ve managed to do a great job in making this series. You probably heard this story many times; it is super famous over the internet. “Water, Earth, Fire, Air… Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.” The world is now at war and in turmoil.
The hero is Aang and his goal is to restore harmony and balance to all the elements since he possesses the ability to bend them.
Will Aang be able to bring about peace and put a stop to the Fire Nation’s goal to conquer the world? To find out, watch the show!
I understand why the original fans of animation despise live-action, but they should also know that live-action movies and series have a huge fanbase of normal audiences who haven’t watched the original show. One Piece live-action on Netflix is a great example of this, so I think you must definitely give Avatar The Last Airbender an honest chance and watch it.
