Tower of Fantasy Guide, Tips, and Reminders For Beginners

Tower of Fantasy enters 2024 better than ever—making it a great time to jump into the game if you haven’t tried it yet. With new Simulcra, collaborations (like the Neon Genesis Evangelion collab happening right now), and other content, you’re in for a treat. But before you start and top up Tower of Fantasy, there are some things you need to know first as a beginner.

If you haven’t played a role-playing gacha game in your life, things might get a little confusing. Here are some tips and reminders that will surely help you navigate through the game as a newbie player. Our Tower of Fantasy guide can also help old players who took a break but are now eager to re-join. Let’s get started!

Take Your Time When Making Your Character

When starting the game, you’ll be asked to make your own unique Wanderer. Take all the time you need when customizing your character, since certain aspects will be permanent or will be difficult to change.

Sure, you can edit your character later, but some changes will require you to cough up a fair number of Dark Crystals or even real money. For example, you’ll have to go to the game’s store to buy the Appearance Change Card to change your gender appearance. You can change your gender or gender symbol for free, but changing your gender appearance, say, from female-presenting to male, will cost you some cash. So think carefully and take your time when making your character!

Stick to the Main Story First

Finally, you’re in the game! You probably can’t wait to explore, try the gacha, and do many things on your own. But as excited as you are, you gotta stick to the main story for now.

By going through the main story and just following where the game is leading you, you’ll easily unlock more areas you can check out later. You can easily earn experience this way too.

You Can’t Quickly Go Through the Story and Experience

This a good reminder for any eager beavers who want to bulldoze through the game as fast as they can. Even if you want to rush through the game, you can’t, because there is a level and experience cap put in place that will prevent you from grinding too much.

See your experience bar? If that gets full, you’ve hit the experience limit of the day. The game even has a system in place that also prevents you from rushing through the main story too quickly. The devs want you to take your time, okay?

Unlock the Gacha System Immediately

Okay, I know I said to take your time, but try to reach the area where it unlocks the gacha system for you as quickly as possible. After all, Tower of Fantasy is a gacha game (a very pretty one, at that!), so a huge chunk of the fun is getting quality pulls that will help you through the game.

Try to reach Omnium Tower as soon as you can. After character customization, finishing the tutorial, following Shirli’s objectives, and unlocking the Jetpack, you will be able to unlock the gacha system at Omnium Tower.

Reroll For Better Chances

The undeniable reality of gacha games is that sometimes you really have to reroll in hopes of a luckier pull. That fact is true for Tower of Fantasy.

If you want to take it up a notch, you can even restart your game over and over again just so you’ll end up with the best weapons from the get-go.

Save Your Dark Crystals

You know how I mentioned that editing your character might need some Dark Crystals? Well, save it! Dark Crystals can be later used during a limited event to buy gold versions of certain equipment parts. This will give you an insane boost and will save you time and effort later.

You can get Dark Crystals as rewards for Achievements, Events, Main Story progress, and signing in every day for seven days straight, to name a few.

Increase Your Dimension Level Later

You might be tempted to expand your exploration and encounters quickly by leveling up your Dimension Level. But hold your horses, bucko! It is actually recommended in a lot of Tower of Fantasy guides to increase your Dimension Level later.

By keeping it at level 10, you can easily go through enemies and bosses easy-peasy. Once you have better gear and have completed or progressed your exploration better, then you can increase its level.

Join a Populated Server

Lastly, Tower of Fantasy is more fun when you play with other people. Guilds in Tower of Fantasy are called Crews, and you can do special missions and even get help and support while you’re a part of one.

Before starting the game, research which servers have more players in your region. It’s better to join a well-populated server so you have an easier time in finding an active Crew.
