Genshin Impact Redemption Arc Real or Not?

It has been quite the talking point within the gacha gaming community whether or not Genshin Impact has truly fallen off. Ever since Hoyoverse released Honkai Star Rail, people’s eyes have been opened to how ethical and great a gacha game can be. With multiple QoL changes that massively benefited the players of Honkai Star Rail, along with constant content updates and end-game systems being permanently added to the game, Genshin Impact players have become somewhat jaded since their game has none of these things… and they had to constantly top up Genshin accounts in order to get the best characters and weapons…

However, is “true” change on the horizon for Genshin Impact? Let’s dive in.

Genshin Impact End-Game Changes

One of the biggest gripes the community at large has with Genshin Impact is that it has no endgame. It’s been a stain on the game’s reputation for a while, and no matter what leaks came out time and again, it looked as if it was going to remain that way.

HOWEVER. There have been recent leaks from reliable leakers in the Genshin community that state a new end-game mode is being added with the 4.7 Version of the game, just before Natlan and 5.0 releases.

This new End-game is supposed to be similar to the already existing Spiral Abyss, or maybe even an addition to it – similar to how the Simulated Universe got expanded upon with the Swarm Disaster and Gold and Gears updates. Leave that alone, if you want to top-up, buy accounts, get valuable items, and more – check out the best Genshin shop around.

Why change their stance on “Casual gaming” and “End-game content”

Genshin has been a “comfort” game for many players all over the world. The developers have stated, multiple times, that they want it to stay that way. They didn’t want to frustrate players and add end-game, competitive systems.

However, all of this seems to have changed thanks to Honkai Star Rail getting incredible praise for their own systems, as well as the encroaching Wuthering Waves which already has a more fun end-game mode than Genshin Impact does, and the game isn’t even out yet.

With this new addition, you can always buy Genshin Impact account that already has a lot of valuable characters, weapons, or just a massive amount of Primogems in order to stay ahead of the curve and beat the content easily.

Genshin Impact Quality of Life Improvements

For almost 3 years since its release, Genshin Impact has had almost no quality-of-life improvements to its game design choices, despite the problems many people had with the game.

The most common complaints surrounding the game were some of the most toxic game design choices you could make. Materials for character and weapon ascension that only spawn on certain days of the week. The Treasure Compass having a large cooldown ended up not being that useful. The map does not properly show layers for caverns and underground areas. Quest tracking, and a couple of others.

Thankfully, there were a lot of positive changes to QoL over the last year or so:

  • Treasure Compass properly shows chests on the minimap and its cooldown resets when you open the chest
  • The map has more detailed information for underground areas and landmarks (waypoints, domain, collectibles, etc.)
  • The Furniture Set crafting in the Serenitea Pot is much more convenient now
  • Quest Tracking is better with more colors to indicate different quest types, along with changes to show the item needed for the quest in the log and options to turn on or off “Immersive” mode
  • The option to claim all expedition rewards and send everyone to the same locations again with the press of a button

These are just some of the Quality of Life changes that were added recently, and we expect to see more and more of these as the game continues to receive Genshin Impact updates.

Genshin Impact Quality of Content

After Mondstadt and Liyue, both of which were great open worlds and stories to explore and experience – we got Inazuma. At first, it seemed like an amazing expansion… however, as time went on and more islands were added to the map, players realized how tedious some of the designs were. Having to play through unskippable and uninteresting World Quests just to be able to explore some areas. Having to continuously upgrade gimmick items and powers to get some valuable rewards, and other choices led to player dissatisfaction.

Some additional content, like the underground area of Enkanomiya, has received a lot of backlash due to its main mechanic having a long animation time. This wouldn’t be bad… but the problem is that you need to use this mechanic all the time and repeatedly in order to solve most puzzles.

Then the Chasm came out to critical acclaim. It had a great story, exploration, and gameplay elements. It seemed like all was good…

But everything changed when Sumeru came out. This has been, to this date, the biggest drop-off point for most Genshin Impact players. A lot of content creators quit and have disdain towards Sumeru, and many players don’t want to come back to the game when they think about having to explore Sumeru.

This was mainly due to the fact that you have to do some pretty annoying World Quests, like the Aranara questline, in order to explore the land of Sumeru properly.

But it seems that with Fontaine and additional maps such as the recently added Chenyu Vale and Petrichor Island/Underground area – Hoyoverse has fixed most of these problems.

Conclusion

We might be seeing Genshin Impact enter its redemption arc – but there’s no doubt that this was forced thanks to the incredible competition the game has recently received in the form of Honkai Star Rail and Wuthering Waves.
