Since last month, PUBG Mobile devs have been subtly teasing their upcoming PUBG Mobile Version 3.1 update that will also be released at the same time as the 6th Anniversary celebration, and finally, we’ve seen an official announcement with a release date!
The new Version 3.1 and 6th Anniversary update will be released on March 13th, 2024 so it’s coming up really soon. Even though the official anniversary is a little later in the month, having initially released on March 19th, 2018, we’re getting it earlier than previous Anniversary events.

Let’s get straight into the breakdown of the PUBG Mobile 3.1 version update, the 6th Anniversary celebration, and some peeks at the latest version through the PUBG Mobile version 3.1 beta.
Skyhigh Spectacle Themed Mode
Probably the most exciting new feature to release with the PUBG Mobile Version 3.1 update and 6th-anniversary celebration is the brand new themed mode – Skyhigh Spectacle.
The overarching event is called “Golden Moon”, and you’ll notice a bunch of Arabian Nights-inspired aesthetics and gameplay features within the new Skyhigh Spectacle-themed mode.
Some of the brand new additions in the Skyhigh Spectale that we know so far include Nimbus Island and the Sky Treasure Ship. These are two new features in the Skyhigh Spectacle game mode that players can visit for some rare loot!
Nimbus Island is where you’ll find all the exclusive Skyhigh Spectacle content. Nimbus Island is literally a floating island where players can explore an ancient ‘Arabian’ themed city with jaw-dropping palaces, Genies, rare loot, and themed ambiance.
Players will also be able to find ‘Magic Lamps’ on Nimbus Island. Activate and summon Genies from the lamp to receive airdrop supplies and a unique respawn card for the match!
On the other hand, the Sky Treasure Ship can be accessed from a boarding point, where you’ll be able to open the ‘final crate’ at the end of the ship’s route filled with rare weapons and gear! There’s also a new ‘Treasure Map’ feature where players can follow the map to find Vault Keys to obtain rare crates and supplies.
New Items in PUBG Mobile Version 3.1 – Golden Moon
With the new update and Skyhigh Spectacle game mode, there are quite a few new items for players to try out.
Firstly, there’s a brand new utility tool called the ‘Genie Grenade’. Throwing this grenade on the floor will spawn a Genie inside of a bubble shield area of effect. Any players inside the radius of the Genie Grenade will be immobilized and will immediately start dancing!
A great way to pick off unsuspecting enemies easily. But keep in mind you’re also susceptible to the dancing bug, even if you threw the grenade.
The other new item is called the ‘Portal Staff’. This new portal will allow players to set up two designated portal sites from which they can enter and teleport to the other portal. This new portal is a game changer for strategic encounters since you can set up an ambush or plan an escape route using the Portal Staff!
The Floating Flying Carpet!
In addition to the two new utility tools, the Skyhigh Spectacle mode also includes a brand new flying vehicle; the Floating Flying Carpet! Reminiscent of the flying carpet from Aladdin, this new vehicle in PUBG Mobile will have you soaring through the skies with ease!
It’s a two-seater flying vehicle that can switch between a ‘ground’ mode which hovers close to the ground and a ‘fly’ mode which will zip players up into the sky to surf among the clouds!
Your passenger will also be able to shoot from the flying carpet so it’s not all style and no substance. It’s a great way to engage in some high-flying, death-from-above-type encounters.
The best part about the Floating Flying Carpet is it’s a utility item, so you can carry it around in your backpack and use it whenever you’d like to. You can also fold it back up to use later so it’s really convenient to get around the map.
Update to the Miramar Map
In addition to the Skyhigh Spectacle-themed mode, PUBG Mobile is also bringing a huge update to the Miramar map. For now, we’ve only seen a teaser from the PUBG Mobile X account (Twitter) hinting at a ‘Miramar Mega Update’ and not much else.
However, we do know from leaks and the beta a few of the updates coming to the Miramar map.
Firstly, Miramar will now feature gas stations to refuel vehicles. The feature was sorely missing in previous versions of the game, so it’s nice to see it being added to Miramar.
We also know that Miramar will now feature ziplines across the map.
This makes it much easier to traverse the landscape which can be too spread out and open for its own good. This is a welcome addition since it makes getting around the map much more convenient.
Another feature we know Miramar is going to include is sandstorms towards the end phases of a match. Similar to the PUBG on PC, Miramar will now include blinding dust storms that will damage you as you walk through it.
The entire affected area will have low visibility so you not only need to protect yourself from enemy combatants but also from the weather.
The Revamped Airdrop P90 Submachine Gun
One of the most anticipated updates with PUBG Mobile version 3.1 has to be the totally revamped P90 submachine gun. If you’ve been in the PUBG Mobile scene for a while now, you’ll know that not many people enjoy the P90.
PUBG Mobile devs have heard the call and have now reworked the entire gun and made it an airdrop-exclusive weapon. While this does make it rarer to find in a match, the good news is the P90, which was previously limited to only two maps, will be available as airdrop loot on all maps.
The new P90 uses 5.7mm ammo and its shots will pierce through armor. This means you can utterly devastate enemies even if they’re decked out in Level 3 helmets and armor.
Plus, the P90’s recoil is insanely low, especially for its fire rate. You won’t be able to use any attachments, but it does feature a scope that we think is good enough for everything else it has to offer.
