The Aftermath Of Valorant Patch 8.09

While at first glance, 8.09 Valorant patch notes look like a small patch released before the VCT, it had major implications on the meta and caused my teams to reconsider their strategy. Apart from that, there was also the incident where a wallhack bug was discovered on the Mystbloom bundle skin line. So if you bought Valorant codes to buy this skin, you should wait a bit. Meta changes and free wallhacks, this Valorant patch has brought with itself some interesting developments that no one was expecting. Since it has been a decent amount of time since the Valorant patch was released, let’s explore the aftermath of Valorant Patch 8.09 in detail in this article.

Valorant Patch 8.09 Nerfs

The brunt of the Valorant patch was experienced by Valorant agent Viper and Cypher as they received a massive nerf to their utilities. Were these nerfs justified? Kind of since these agents were rocking one of the highest rates in tournaments and in ranked play. If you don’t already have these agents unlocked, you can always purchase Valorant accounts and instantly get access to them. Let’s dive into the nerf both these agents got individually to help understand the extent to which these agents were nerfed and how it will affect them in the aftermath of Valorant Patch note 8.09.

Viper Valorant Nerfs

Valorant Viper’s kit got the biggest hit coming out of Valorant Patch 8.09. Nearly every one of Viper’s abilities got hit with the Nerf hammer, except for her ultimate, leading players to wonder whether she even has a place in the meta or not. It won’t be wrong to describe these nerfs as Chamber-level nerfs as these changes are that severe. Looking to buy some skins to play with your Viper Valorant then check out Valorant VP prices.

Now Valorant Viper is not able to pick up her Poison Cloud orb again after using it during the round. Previously, she could pick up and relocate her orb later in the round; however, this option has been restricted to only the buy round. Consequently, she now has reduced flexibility and cover to utilize, particularly since her Toxic Screen wall was already immovable.

Like that wasn’t enough, Toxic Screen and Poison Cloud abilities also saw a reduction in their uptime, and the number of Viper’s molly (Snake Bite) got reduced from 2 to 1 now.

Cypher Valorant Nerfs

While Valorant Cypher did receive nerfs as well, they weren’t as massive as Viper’s nerfs. Nonetheless, these nerfs will definitely reduce Cypher’s dominance in the meta and let other Sentinels like Sage and Killjoy shine more in the aftermath of Valorant Patch 8.09.

In the changes made in Valorant Patch 8.09, Riot Games has decided to tweak Cypher’s Trapwire (C), giving opponents a bit more time to react once it’s triggered. They’ve also shortened the duration of the slowing effect, which gives those caught in it a better chance to wiggle out of danger.

Some have been cleverly hiding Cypher’s Spycams (E) around the map, spying on enemies without their knowledge. To address this, the developers have added an audio alert for enemies who are being watched. It’s a heads-up for those trying to quietly move around the map that they might be under Cypher Valorant surveillance.

Mystbloom Bundle

Nerfs weren’t the only thing introduced in Valorant. The latest Valorant patch saw the introduction of a new skin line that goes by the name of Mystbloom. It is a pink lotus theme bundle that costs 8,700 VP so you better top up Valorant points to purchase the bundle. The bundle comes with four gun skins, one melee weapon, a gun buddy, a player card, and one spray to go along with it. This bundle has 3 color variants and each variant comes with its own finisher VFX. The 4 new guns introduced are also followed along with their price if you decide to buy them individually:

Gun Type Individual Price
Mystbloom Hunai (Knife)4,350 VP
Phantom2,175 VP
Sheriff2,175 VP
Judge2,175 VP
Operator2,175 VP

Mystbloom Bundle Wallhack Bug

When the Mystbloom bundle was released some players in the community reported suspicious visuals upon equipping the gun skins. On May 2, a popular Valorant content creator Average Jonas showed this bug in their tweet demonstrating how the gun gives wall hacks to players. Basically, when you equip the skin and inspect it you are able to see the outline of the enemy agent through the wall. This bug was very noticeable on the Operator’s skin especially.

Later it was discovered that this bug was not limited to the Mystbloom bundle as in fact the Primordium, Magepunk, and Imperium bundle skins also had the same visual glitch allowing users to see the outline of enemy agents through the wall. Riot Games was soon to jump in and disable these skins and promised to release a hotfix to resolve these issues as soon as possible.
